Rep to the first person that has a pic of UGA (Russ) on the Folsom sidelines.

I went over to get a pic. I had to take it in his kennel because he was mad at the trainer for putting eye drops in his eyes.

DISCLAIMER: that is fake UGA. Real UGA is dead. That dog's name is Russ.

I am not making this up. They are still looking for a UGA replacement that lives up to Georgia's high expectations, whatever they are.

... but I like the pic.

He said that in his post.

BTW, they are looking for the same bloodline.

Yes and Yes. All UGAs have to be from the same bloodlines and be direct descendants of the original UGA I and also this guy is Russ, stepping in until they get UGA VIII.

Sorry, I like UGA, lived in GA, and my wife is also from there. But we both rooted for the Buffs last night.

I wish there was a pic of UGA next to Ralphie.

Russ for dog Heisman. Ralphie for Master of the Universe.

If I'd looked at that photo--even without the explanation--I would have said to myself, "that dog is pissed about something, and I'll bet it has something to do with eye drops."

Yeah, I noticed he said "Russ" in the post after I had hit "post quick reply." I was just so amazed that I had any UGA trivia, that I was overly excited to share it.

The dog is cool in his own way. He is world-weary and tough. There's something about a bulldog that makes their massive and disproportionate shoulders look like linebackers. Buffaloes also have strong shoulders and slim hips - by comparison - which mimic the players wearing pads. A buffalo would be a great football player if he could learn the rules or was otherwise coachable.

I always laugh a little when the handlers are doing all they can just to keep up and ralphie is just jogging along. Most impressive mascot in all of sports.

As a lineman or DB, perhaps buffalo would excel. But I'd want a dolphin for QB if he could learn to scramble and throw the ball. A genetically altered flea or grasshopper would be much better than a kangaroo to take over the kicking game.

:canabis::hippie::smokin:

Alabama and their angry menstrual elephants would still probably keep their #1 ranking, though.

Redundant?

Redundant?

Perhaps. A menstrual elephant can literally be both bitchy and angry at the same time, but it's sometimes tricky to separate one behavior from the other.

"Bitchy" would have been unnecessary and crossed the redundancy line.

Well, yeah, in the movies, but we're talking FOR REAL.

When it comes to Don Knots, I pretty much celebrate the whole collection.

It's good to see you taking a break from your kicking game obsession, Alferd.

I suspect that was tongue in cheek..

But two different people have given me the hangtime for the punts (the only stat Plati doesn't publish --- yet) so I will have to focus on it soon.
What was amazing was that GA's punter was last year's Ray Guy winner, and the kicker, Blair Walsh was runner up for top kicker award, the Lou Groza.
But they had an off day, IMO.

Well you remember the WVU kicker who said, before the game, "back it up and let the big dog eat" and then missed the chip shot in OT.

Something about the altitude that isn't as accommodating as some kickers believe, maybe? I don't know.

The GA punter had an incredible year last year (hence the Ray Guy award) but has struggled this year, in comparison. There were articles in the Atlanta paper online talking about what he is doing to overcome his issues. It was all mind-numbingly boring except to the few and the brave, I'm afraid. But there are a couple other current players (one at Arizona state) who came out of the gate strong as freshmen or sophs, then zippo after one glorious year.
It really is a mind game, isn't it? Because you'd think the strength ability and technique would be there...

He was on the jumbotron briefly ... maybe a media shot will surface. When I saw it (on the screen), I tried to figure out where they were looking, but couldn't see him.

Sorry.

didn't Leash post a photo in another thread?

He posted a photo of him IN Boulder, in his dog carrier, but I believe a photo ON Folsom field is requested. Tough crowd.

Did he even make it on the field, what with the whole ugly visine incident and whatnot?

Russ is from the same bloodline, but an official UGA has to be all white, and Russ not.
