Potential for beat down = VERY HIGH

I think the possibility that Mizzou absolutely mudholes the Buffs this weekend is very high...

#1 -- ROAD GAME
#2 -- Night game
#3 -- Mizzou has been off for 2 weeks
#4 -- Scores in last two games AT Mizzou (28-13, 58-0)
#5 -- Buffs leaving Big 12 = big target on CU in every conference game
#6 -- 5th down 20th reunion

This has been talked about a lot. I don't think there are many buff fans feeling very confident in this one.

#7: chances higher than i'd like we spend Monday and Tuesday feeling a little too good about our Big W over UGA and lack focus for MU preparation. Though, that would seem impossible given recent circumstances.....but, these things happen.

There was so much emotion invested in the Georgia game, this is likely going to be a letdown game.

I think the thing that makes the biggest difference is the fact it is a road game. CU is just not good on the road...they are a different team it seems like.

Missouri's defense has been playing well and their offense moves good through the air.

God I hope not, Big 12 opener on the road against an opponent that has dominated us lately? If there's a let down Hawk should be fired next Sunday.

As a fan, you'd hope CU's 14-game skid on the road combined with Mizzou's complete domination of the Buffs during the Hawkins era would provide a spark.

The Buff's current 3-1 record is nice and I'll take it. But post season plans are forged during conference play.

This fan base expects and demands a team that is competitive in our conference. When misters DiStephano and Bohn evaluate Coach Hawkins, the road games must be weighed equally with the home performances.

So far this season, Hawkins is getting a passing grade at home.

On the road, Coach Hawkin has carried his failures into 2010 in a craptacular no-show at Cal. Clean that up!

There are reasons not to expect much from Coach Hawkins at Mizzou, including the combined 177-40 point discrepancy since 2006. Dan Hawkins has lost more supporters than he can count because of horrid football against Mizzou. If ever there were a time for Coach Hawkins to present a case to retain his position and build back some goodwill, this is the weekend to do it.

This thread is sad commentary on the state of the program that we can not beat Mizzery. In my opinion this game is even more meaningful for Hawk than the UGA game. Hawk can't win on the road and can't carry Mizzery's jock strap. I hope it changes this year, but I am not holding my breath.

If the coaching staff is smart, they get everyone hyped to watch film on Georgia, and put in last year’s MU game. Highlight Hansen getting sacked 8 times. Show the successful plays where he got the snap, immediately tucked the ball to run and avoid the rushers, and then barley gets off a pass the goes for 4 years (stress that this is one of our offensive highlights). Show Jimmy Smith making a great int, only to have Hansen sacked and fumble on the next play. Show the play where Gabbert sits in the pocket waiting for his #4 WR to come all the way across the field into Burton’s portion of the zone so he can hit him on a 12 yard pass play that turns into a 78 yard TD. Show the Buffs create another turnover, only to have a sack for a safety on the next play. Show the fake field goal, that apparently we practiced defending, score a TD before half to go up 33-0.

Tomorrow we are going to have the best practice of the year, cause it's Tuesday.

It opened Mizzou -9
Everywhere I looked had Mizzou opening at -12 or -13, which is where its at right now, surprisingly little movement today.

Some lines of note:

AFA -23 over CSU, already up to -25.5
UGA -10 over Tenn, already up to -12
Stanford -7 over USC, already at -9.5

I was really down on CU after the csu game. I hated that we didn't put 40+ on them. But I took hope in what some were saying, that CU didn't want to show everything. I was just completely downtrodden after the Cal debacle. But I also felt that game was more of an abhoration than what we really are. But then again, it was a road game and we sucked, as we usually do in road games. I was at that Hawaii game and there was no energy in the stands after the first half. None. People didn't even "boo" when the team left the field.

But, all of a sudden, in the second half, this team went to the no huddle and seemed to gel. That gave me at least a little hope. I think Georgia is way better than a 1-3 team. Especially with Green. And we beat them and looked pretty good at times during the game. Hell, we only had 3 penalties.

Now comes another roadie and its at Missouri who has beaten us an average of 44.3 - 10 the last 4 years. I don't have much of a read on Missouri. They are 4-0 but have not played on the road yet. They killed McNeese St. and Miami (OH). But they struggled against San Diego St. and a bit against Illinois. Niether of those teams is too bad. So its hard to tell how good Missouri is. I think we have the talent to give them a game. But I'm just not sure how we will handle the road.

This coaching staff is an absolute embarrassment to this university and I'm absolutely done with them. The longer they are hear, the longer it will take the next coach to dig himself out of this mess.

We didn't hold anything back vs. CSU. Cal was not an "abhoration". We're just a badly coached team. I do believe there is talent on this squad, and that makes it even more embarrassing to see us in the position we're in.

Junk the Juicebox.
Squawk the Hawk.
Dispose of the Danny
Fire the fraud

Do it. Do it now.

Cal may not have been an abberation, but it definitely was an abhoration. Or an abortion. Whichever you prefer.

Also, I am fuming just reading this and remembering. Hopefully the boys'll feel the same way.

Well, it isn't going to happen until the season's over at this point. I also don't think its fair to throw the entire coaching staff under the bus. I see very few scenarios in which Hawkins would be retained but I'm usually wrong about just about everything. I think the Cal game was an abberration to a degree. They aren't 52-7, or whatever, better than us. But it does indicate the inability of Hawkins to prepare the team for a road game.

Five years DBT. Five years they've had to work on putting together a winning team. And they can't even win a ****ing road game.

Well, for instance, Prince and Ambrose haven't been here five years. Cabral is still a helluva LB coach. To name three. But the next coach makes the personnel decisions, not you or me. I suspect everyone will get their wish in November.

You mean Ambrose, who couldn't figure out to place Jimmy Smith on AJ Green until put almost 21 points on the board all by himself?

And what has Robet Prince done to earn your high praise?

No. Of course you're right and I'm wrong. Forgive me.
