Here in Salt Lake this week and listened to some good college football talk on radio today.
One of their guests spoke about Utah State's buttkicking of BYU this past weekend and he had some interesting insight:
Basically blamed BYU's issues on their WR corp. Said that not one BYU receiver scares anyone so they man up, and jam the WR's at the LOS. Put 8 guys in the box, bring blitzes and stunts and BYU can do nothing on offense. They have QB talent, but still nothing.
Interestingly, he also mentioned the BYU defenders as "giving up" as the offensive unit is so hopeless, that when they get down early, they are done.
This sounds like the last few year at Colorado?
Patterson, Clemons, & Richardson have done a lot more imo than shown in the stat sheet. Defenses are playing honest again. Not to mention we got some guys throwing some blocks.
By the way, those who question why Cefalo is on the field need to watch several of the long plays vs. Georgia. Dude can block and he catches everything.
