I cannot believe I stuck up for Hawk.

I feel like he stabbed me in the back. I'll never forgive The Hawk. I stuck up for he bastard and he just made me look like the biggest douche on earth. I feel pretty devastated right now. I want Hawkins to disappear into neverness. DII is neverness. At the least. DIII?

What is 2008?

People say this every time. I believed before the Cal game, (would have went regardless) went there and we laid an egg. Got a little confident before Mizzou, thought anything could happen and it was a disaster.

A tiger can't change it's stripes and Hawk can't change the fact that he's not a BCS school caliber head coach.

Yes he did....

DBT. What's worse is he is making this entire program look like the biggest douches on the Earth for sticking with him. Plus, how would you feel if you had to play for this guy? Years and years of hearing his BS only to find out he is a complete and total fraud? I feel really bad for these kids.

I thought the pink tuxedo had already taken care of that? j/k DBT...unfortunately, Hawk has done that to a lot of us. I'm just glad I left the islands when I did, b/c I was touting him just as hard as you had after the 5-7 season and loss to kNU.

Fortunately, I got the rude awakening to Hawk at the CSU game before I had a chance to start shooting my mouth off down here in Whornland - saved me a lot of grief. We're here for ya man! Think of us as your "Buffs Anonymous" group.

Hi. My name is NavyBuff96 and I am a Buffs Fan who was duped by Dan Hawkins.

If you want to understand the mindset of the coaching staff, here it is from a guy I usually respect, Darien Hagen in the Post this morning. "Guys just didn't do what they were taught to do." According to this staff, the issue is never coaching, it is always the team. Passing the buck is the specialty of Hawkins and it flows down like sewage from him to the rest of the staff. You will never hear Hawkins or his staff take responsibility for this inconsistent, undisciplined, mistake prone, uninspired team. They always find someone else, usually the kids, to blame. You should be ashamed Darien. If you have issues with the players, keep it in house. FIRE HIM FIRE THEM move on.

Dan Hawkins is 1-17 in his last 18 road games. The last road win was against Baylor in October 2007. Average score over this span is 35-19.

Over this period not once has the coaching staff stepped up and say that a loss was the result of poor coaching. Everything is always put on the players for not doing what they were taught, we got some bad breaks, and whatever other lame excuses they can come up with.

I hate UT, but they lose to UCLA a few weeks ago and the first thing Mack Brown says in the post game press conference is the loss was on him and his coaches. They did not get the team prepared to play with the intensity expected from UT.

I wish they would hurry up and fire Hawkins. No reason to keep him around for anything at this point.

I feel bad for guys like McKnight, Solder and Speedy. They will go down as great Buffs, but they will be stained by playing during the Hawkins era.

Don't feel too bad for Solder. He came into the program as a mediocre tight end and is leaving as a 1st round NFL draft pick that will make lots of money. He did it despite the awful coaching he received. I congratulate him for this, but I don't feel sorry for him. He also got a kick @ss education in the mean time.

I just get angry even reading the college football section of the paper. I'll feel better IF we beat BU and TT, for sure. But even those games are a major toss up. But to see quotes like, " We have to get back to the basics. We have shown we can be a good team, but we need to play consitent now. We have to have the leaders go around and get into the young guy's ears." Or Hagan's quote. "We have to regroup, becauese that (Missouri) team we just played, they weren't as physical or fast as Georgia. They wren't nearly as fast as Cal. Guys just didn't do what they were taught to do." :bang:

How about these quotes:

Scotty McNight: "Thats what we've talked about as a unit, to take more shots (downfield). That's definitely something we feel as a receiver crew. We fell we can make plays downfield. When we have the opportunities, we have to make those plays."

Jimmy Smith: "I think we should put more emphasis on special teams in practices and in the meetings as well. (But) I don't think it comes down to our coaches. I think it comes down to our players on special teams. That's definitely going to change this week. Our leaders are going to get ahold of that. We're an up and down team. We need to be more consistent." No ****? Really?

I'm so sick of reading the same old **** after every damned loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wont lie, I was excited about him when the hire was made. Wow, was I wrong about him. His offenses were fun to watch and they seemed real well coached. I dont think it was because of him lol.

I walked on the beach with DBT when things were tough. I looked back and saw only one set of footprints in the sand. I said, "DBT, why did you desert me? Why aren't your and my footprint's side by side?"

DBT said, "Fellow Buff Fan, your faith in Dan Hawkins was weak. So I carried you on my shoulders. I did not desert you. Those are my footprints in the sand."

If even DBT gives up the faith, what hope do the rest of us have?

Any there any more steadfast Dan Hawkins supporters out there ready to shoulder the weight of a bitter and disappointed Buff Nation? Is anyone out there going to carry DBT with faith that a corner is about to be turned? Buehler? Buehler?

If you are out there, turn off the lights when you leave the building.

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it call a meeting of the Regents and approve the buy-out?
