What would you guys think of Carl Pelini at CU?

When I mentioned the other day that I wish we would have gone after Bo when we had the chance, ITB mentioned Carl. what does everybody think about Carl? He seems kinda like Bo, hard nosed, good defensive guy, and we wont even be playing Nebraska anymore, so the hatred rivalry will be gone, so he'll probably be more likely to come here than if we were still in the same conference.

Thoughts? I don't really know much about the guy, just wanted to get a perspective on him.

Supposedly, Bo is the mature and level-headed brother with his emotions, drinking and behavior under control.

I think we can do a lot better than Bo's slower little brother.

Speak for yourself. You grow a rubbery one every time Pelini's name is mentioned. What's up with that 'leash?

Bo is a great coach, he has Nebraska looking pretty ****ing sweet in a short time. I really don't know much about Carl, so I wanted to get to know him a little more with peoples opinions.

I'm not sure we have enough big boosters for Carl to find an adequate wife or daughter to fool around with.

Carl sounds like Mike Stoops if he's out boozing and chasing skirts.

I think we can do better. Will we, dunno. I think Carl is an inflated "stock" at this point.

We made our last move for a Nebraska coach in the late '70s when we tried (and nearly succeeded) in landing Osborne. No Husker coaches, please.

We blew it with Bo - he definitely would have accepted the CU job, but the administration wanted a face man so they gave it to pinhead. I don't know if he is as good as Bo, and he has the off field issues - was banging a booster's wife. Didn't somebody post a picture of her on AllBuffs?

Bo may have accepted the job, but would have been a PR nightmare...that guy has just the barest grip on his temper and he will, mark my words, do something monumentally stupid off the field. It's just he'll be allowed to slide in NE. He'd be a turd in the Boulder punchbowl...

If Carl can bring intensity to the Buffs, I'm all for it...CU fans have complained about CU's players not showing any emotion on the sidelines.

Guess which one is Carl.

I think Bo is the mastermind behind that defense, not Carl. I want a highly successful DC to be our next HC, but it isn't Carl.

oh, the old anonymous internet picture...cripes.

Bo may have had a few other opportunities to hash over if NU hadn't come along.

Carl is the DLine coach along with the DC, and if you look at the games from 2008 on, the DL has made incredible jumps. He took Suh from an overrated chump to what he was last season. In 08 he took a guy in Ty Steinkuhler who had done nothing and turned him and Zach Potter into all conference type players. Jared Crick was barely a 3* from BFE Nebraska and now he's a 1st round pick. He is a great defensive coach and while he and Bo colaborate on the defensive schemes, it's 50-50. He actually is the calmer of the two. Not sure if he's head coach material or not, but they all have to start somewhere. He was the DC under Solich at Ohio so he's been around a seasoned head coach, and with his job here, he's learned what it takes to pull a program back up from the depths. That's what CU needs to look for in their next HC. Not whether or not he "fits" in Boulder. Besides, I think Boulder will have a bit of a culture change once they switch conferences, as will NU.
