Players and their nfl future

Do you guys feel as bad for the players as i do. Some of these kids would have a great shot at the nfl if not for the coaches (hell some of them still do), but these coaches just seem to be wasting their talent away. Clemons, Solder, Smith, Miller, and possibly a few others could have been 1st round picks, but unfortunatly their talent has been pretty much wasted and they seem almost to far behind to catch up to the rest of the cfb elites. Its just a complete shame these kids couldn't have gotten a competent coach to help them along.

Am I in a drunken stupor like everyone else? Just think about Dan just makes me wanna throw five more back.

Heck no. Football players got all-inclusive free rides to a fine school in addition to preferential treatment that regular students could only dream of. The NFL will find you if you are good. The fact that you play for a losing team means nothing.

There aren't that many first round picks on the roster. Out of that group, I see Solder getting a first round shot because of workout numbers. Smith will be a 2nd-4th rounder I imagine. Besides those guys, maybe Clemons as a FA or in a very late round. Sure the coaching staff hasn't developed the players very well, but one of Hawk's huge failures has been very poor recruiting.

win loss record in college means very little, most of a players stock is valued at the combine. This team has some guys that are going to play on Sunday. The NFL eval is based on physical makeup, they doen't care if you are a football player, if you are not prototypical you have a much lower chance of getting a shot.

TBD is right, but the players with the physical tools aren't being given adequate preparation to play in the NFL, either. NFL coaches don't really want to coach, they want to manage, train, prepare, and motivate. They aren't interested in teaching the nuances of the game.

The development of these players has certainly been retarded by this coaching staff and thus their draft placement. However, the physical tools of guys like Solder, Miller and Smith will get them drafted.

Solder couldn't block anyone against Cal. He looked lost. A guy with his kind of talent is only lost because he wasn't taught his craft properly.

I'm feeling less and less sorry for the players each week that they turn in ****ty ****ing performances like we've seen the past four years. At some point you gotta man up and at least ****ing do your part and execute.
