Cody comment. What does it mean?

"They got in our huddle and told us to screw ourselves," Cody Hawkins said when asked about the adjustments Texas Tech's defense made in the fourth quarter. (BDC today)

I think he is saying that TT knew exactly what CU was going to do each snap - just as if they'd been in the huddle. The flip side of this coin is that we were ujnable to adjust and keep TT off-balance at all. I'm sure he didn't mean it that way exactly, but I think his comment really said, "they were able to adjust, we were not."

To me this is DH and Co's most consistent failing. They cannot adjust at half or during the game, while other teams can. I think we had a good game plan and were doing well, until the adjustment time came.

as an aside that will be mocked: DH, I think, truly loves CU and tries his hardest. he;'s worn our colors for 5 years. When he is axed, I hope people will enjoy the new possibilities/opportunities and not spend their time kicking Dan. We are 'classy fans' and only bullies kick a man when he's this far down.

He was being sarcastic. He was trying to say that they beat themselves with mistakes.

Part of the standard drivel we hear after every loss. In Cody's mind, the coaches put them in position to win but some of the young guys didn't quite run the right routes or pick up the protections.

between his dead arm and the staff's inability to adjust to what ttu was doing in the 4th quarter it all adds up to yet another loss. this team is incapable of scoring more than 30 points and ever bailing out the defense to win a game...

That is the sad part of this whole thing. The thought that keeps getting floated that the coaches are doing the right thing but the kids are just not executing. BS!

I used to bash Helfrich, but it always looked like he had put together a good game plan for each game. Problem was that his game plans didn't fit the skills we had. Now, we have some more talent in place, but I cannot see any semblance of a game plan that can take advantage of the talent and am not sure there really is a plan.

What it means now is Cody better back up his words and walk the walk! Not talk(ins) the talk! (Sorry couldn't resist.)

i wonder what the margin b/ween "fair and accurate assessment of performance" and negative kool-aid is?

at this point, i don't feel like i'm failing as a fan because i'm not "positive" enough.

i guess the Black Knight is to whom we look as a model.

Cody's negative comments about the media and his smart-ass attitude are falling on deaf ears. What is the media supposed to do Cody...blow smoke up your ass and tell you how well you played for 3 quarters and you were just one play short? give me a freakin break!! Walk the walk before you can talk the talk Cody! The Hawkins Family Circus needs to get the **** out of dodge asap!

He will be leaving dripping with our money - so it's not like we are the bad guys.
