Ambitious but rubbish.

Can someone give me a little insight on the Buff Club Lounge I have seen mentioned in a thread or two for CU Basketball games?

I forgot about that place. We used to go there for popcorn and cokes before the game back when my dad had season tickets growing up.

I have no current insight, however. So basically you can ignore my post.

Just a place where they sell beer before the game and during halftime. Serve Coors, C-Light, and Blue Moon if I remember right. They might serve food to, but not sure. On the north end of the CEC in the basketball operations office. Supposed to be reserved for season ticket holders, but me or anybody I've brought with me has never been checked.

They've got better food than in the arena. Plus, beer (listed above + Buffalo Gold) and wine. We will have an AllBuffs table for every game this year. Believe it's open to all Buff Club members, season ticket holders and guests of either.

Edit: Often, a coach and maybe a player will come down there and give a talk before the game.

Excellent news on the beer! I've complained in the past about it being taken away, so I'm thinking I'll be hitting the club up before the games this season.

I thought I saw a sign inside CEC last year saying that to get to the club room from the main concourse was down a stairwell? Never went, so I'm not sure though..

Yes....down the stairs or the elevator to the ground floor then follow the signs. There is an unanswered question as to whether the construction will have any impact on whether the room is available.

It is open to season ticket holders and buff club members. There is food, can't remember if you have to pay for that, but definitely beer. They have TVs with other games on and coaches come in before pregame. It is a little hard to access from inside the arena, the stairwell is kinda unmarked at the top of section 23 (or close to there). As a season ticket holder you can actually go directly in to the room from outside coors. They tear your tickets there and you walk past the admin offices, etc. It certainly adds value to the season ticket investment. Dance squad makes an appearance too - added bonus.

I ended up getting dinner there before the games last year, great meal, realitivly well priced, made to order. I would highly recommend it, but it was getting crowded at the end of the season.

I only started going to these at the second half of last season, and different than what others said, I was pressed pretty hard for my season tickets just about every time. They would normally take a pretty good look at them too. I got caught once trying to take someone without a ticket once, and couldnt get them in. The crappy thing is he even had a season ticket, just left it at his seat.

But overall, this is a great place to go before the game.

Appreciate the details - I had season tix for the 07/08 season and I don't remember the club room being mentioned at all in any part of my season ticket package....definitely would've checked it out if I had known...

They don't mention it. You go halfway up main the stairs and make a left to the North entrance into the coaching offices area. Enter through the glass doors there that look like they're not meant for fans. Then you go back into the area. It's not big enough to advertise, especially during conference play. We need to get established there during the non-conference schedule while it's fairly empty.

I highly doubt the outside entrance will be available this season due to the practice facility construction. That entire area where the walkway to the lower entrance etc were is now in the hard hat area.

Is the club room open to all season ticket holders, or just buff club members?

all season ticket holders, but you need your ticket to get in.

They sometimes have free popcorn (about 80% of the time) and often they have a carving table for $$$$

Beers are $6 and you can get a 16 oz Buff Gold, Blue Moon, Coors or Coors light.

I hope they add a few more tvs this year and maybe another beer serving area as the line would get big really fast.

This seems like a simple low cost upgrade for them to do, have you talked to the AD about it?

When I was in the BBall band, I stumbled across this, and would have a pregame drink (or 5) and listen to the coach talk. It was awesome! I kind of stood out because I was still wearing the CU BBall band shirts (so ignorant back then). I was so pumped about it that I would bring a friend, then 2 then 3.....then we all got kicked out and weren't allowed back. bleh

Can't wait to partake in that as an adult this year!

How long ago were you in the band?
