Message from Denver Buff Club: Remember to bring your CU flags to the game

I just received an email from our friends at the Denver Buff Club. For those of you on Rivals, JerryCoBuff leads the basketball efforts and posts fairly regularly about hoops.

He let me know that he will be joining us on AllBuffs when he has news to pass on. From his email to me...

I have a new "Welcome Coach Boyle" banner. I had it made to use for a number of community gatherings by Coach Boyle during the session. As we get these scheduled, posting on Allbuffs would be perfect.

Also, as I mentioned in the thread title...

It would be great if you could encourage BB fans to bring their CU flag to the game. We started promoting that idea last year and want to grow it this season. The Denver Buff Club is giving me a batch of its old highway flags that we intend to repair, clean up and give away to fans at the games in order to get a bunch of flags waving when the team is introduced.

He does a lot of promotions like that. For example, he has already distributed 1,000 tickets for the CU-CSU game to football season ticket holders who don't normally attend basketball games. That's going to be a doubleheader (men's and women's) on December 8th, so mark it on your calendars. Coors is gonna be rockin!

He's doing great work for our basketball program. Hopefully I'll be able to get Jerry to participate a lot on AB this year.

Not sure yet. Got to get them done first. I would suppose he will bring them to the games and give them to fans. I'll let you know when I know.

Just hold it up in front of you while the team is being introduced. Lots of fans were doing it last year. I actually thought it was parents or something until I was told it was a new "tradition" we were trying to get started.

Also, since many people are going to be new to the basketball games, another tradition is that we remain standing after introductions until CU scores.

We did that at football games when I was at CU...or at least, that's the way it often worked out.

Arent they going to do the "lights off" introductions with the spotlight this year? I dont remember where I heard that, but I dont think they would see the flags with the lights out

Jerry is a very good guy and a die hard Buff. I was on the Denver Buff Club board when we started the thing up and he is a major reason it succeeded and grew. Jerry is a tremendous leader and gets things done. He is also the person basically responsible for starting the Kick Off Lunch down at the DCPA. He is never out of ideas and is a pretty big visionary. If he is involved, you can bet this will be done well and on a grand scale. It would be awesome to get him on Allbuffs as a regular contributor.
