I haven't been this happy with a CU program in years

RK

UBL
Boyle is the man
Levi is God from behind the arc
Andre is a BEAST all over the court

Alec just had one of his worst offensive games of the season and we dropped KSU the favorite to win the big 12 in "the octagon of doom"

I think im living in a basketball town, ncaa tourney here we come
GO BUFFS!!!!!!!!

My happiest moment was beating Indiana in the tournament. But this is the best since then.

That win meant so much to this team. I credit a lot of our recent success to that game, especially tonight. That win got them to figure out they could win outside of Boulder.

Sorry, I meant in the NCAA tourney when CU and Chauncey beat Indiana and Bobby Knight. But the Indiana win this year was huge, for damned sure.

Good win for the buffs.

Not to be a downer, but KSU is not at full strength. And mizzou runs a gimmick offense and defense that we match up really well against.

I'm like a scorned lover entering into a new relationship. This **** is hard. Please keep proving it to me buffs, I'm working on my end. We'll meet 3/4 the way? k? One more win will do it. I think.

Great win for Tad. This doesn't even seem like the same team that I saw play @ Harvard last month. Too bad we weren't playing well back then. We will be ranked if we knock of Ok State

Yeah, I'm with DBT here.

Sorry...that was a lame statement on my part....when you said program, I also threw football into the mix. Thus, our basketball program beating a #20 team on the road is unbelievably great, but that was a regular (and expected) occurrence for our football program not that long ago.

Tad has got the team playing well now that they have had some time in his new system. It is fun and exciting to watch which is also a great change up in Boulder. This team will be in every game and win more than anyone thought they would. I am excited for the kids and pretty glad we picked up mr. boyle.

Let's pack the house on Saturday!

The timing couldn't be better!!! - New coach, new conference and new practice facility to combine with a better playing team with a fun style to watch gives us a lot we can sell to recruits!! . If we can just keep it up and make it into the tournament some how we could really see some long term sustainable success for the program.

Never been a huge college hoops fan but I watched last night. Great to see a gutty win - on the road - but it wasn't exactly pretty. 12-for-21 on FTs and they still get the win? Again, I'm no hoops guy, so I'm asking you guys who are to explain it to me: does CU have the players to compete all the way (only seven saw the floor last night. Is bench strength a looming issue? Is this early Big XII success a match-up thing (as Daaah suggests above)? When do the Buffs start getting votes in the polls?

they are not 10/11 deep, but we had 8 guys getting significant minutes, so we could potentially run into foul trouble at times this year.

Last night was a good win no matter how you slice it. I know what you are saying but college sports are momentum driven, think we have that right now. Roberson keeps playing like he is 6'11" on the boards, this could get interesting.

If you have a solid 8 man rotation, that should usually be good enough. So basically, they have to get contributions from Nate Tomlinson and Shannon Sharpe, which is the only iffy thing I see for this team right now. The other bigs at the end of the bench can be thrown into give their 5 fouls, and thats about all their useful for.

I absolutely agree, we are weak on a true point guard. Nate and Sharpe have both shown flashes and have good moments, but neither one is a game changer.

Tomlinson should be finding him self on the bench for the rest of the year, not starting games, it is just disaster when he gets in the games. Sharpe didnt have a great game last night, but I think he is the one who deserves to get the playing time. But with that said, I think our strongest 5 is Higgins, Burks, Knutson, Relephorde, and Dufault. With Sharpe rotating with Higgins, Burks and Knutson and Roberson rotating with Relephorde and Dufault. Then sprinkle the other guys in there for foul trouble and short stints.

I think Sharpe has much better defense, but Thomlinson is better with passing the ball and making the offense move as well as shooting from the outside. I think if we combined the guys we would have a good player

I would agree Tomlinson has better vision of the floor, but he also turns the ball over way too much, and teams now lick their chops when they see him with the ball. Sharpe I think can handle the ball a lot better.

Tomlinson thinks he is Steve Nash and he isnt, got a good bball iq, but he cant produce. He needs pt but dont let him run the show. It should end and begin with Burks or Higgins, play off of them. Sharpe is just getting started, this guy will make us happy.

Long time reader here. Finally decided to register and post.

After watching the Mizzou and K-State game, I can say this team is the best I have seen since probably the 03 team with Morandis, Pelle, David Harrison and Blair Wilson. (possibly better) The biggest thing I took from the K-State game was that Cory and Alec finished 7-19 with 21 pts and the TEAM got a conference win on the road against a ranked opponent. This one was a lot bigger even though Mizzou was #8 at the time.

The only thing I would like to see is Levi get into the starting lineup and Tomlinson out. Either have Levi run the point or the best option would just have Cory do it and put Levi on the wing. I kinda want to see Andre start over Austin too but we'll wait on that.

The buffs have a really good shot at finishing top 4 in the Big 12 this year and next year even with the loss of key players they should finish top 4 in the Pac-12. Tad Boyle has a bright future in Boulder.

I'd actually like to see Sharpe start at point. He's been playing much better lately. Getting more aggressive on defense, and is starting to pick his spots on the offensive end. Bring in Tomlinson off the bench for depth, and I like Higgins taking the point later in the 2nd half.

Good first post rook!

Welcome, Tempe.

I was thinking the same thing about the best starting 5, but I decided I'd rather have Levi's energy off the bench. Same with Roberson & Sharpe. It's good when the bench guys give you a lift. More important is total minutes and who is on the court in the last 5 minutes. I think we'll see Cory at the point to close out games more often than not (with Burks, Relphorde & Dufault + either Levi or Dre depending on defensive matchups).

It's nice to be talking about productivity from the bench players.

The minutes for the players were interesting. Relphorde had the most with 34. He was a damn warrior on D in the first half and it was his play that dragged us out of the early game malaise that nearly let ksu run away with the game early.
