With the understanding that this is very early in the process and none of us have seen how these guys look in what will be a new offensive system, who do you think will start under center come 3 September in Hawaii?

Right now Hansen but we will see what Burnette can do. Tyler has the experience but I am not sold on him being the answer. We will see what the QB coach can do with him.

Hansen. But I love that we may finally have some real competition. Got a little tired of the Cody/Hansen annual battle.

I think we're in trouble if it's not Hansen in the opener.

Not really. This is a new staff, new system. Hansen only has the fact that he has played with some of the receivers coming back going for him. The Juco kid could play well enough to unseat him.

With that said, I think Hansen with good coaching will develop and will win the starting job.

Nick Hirshman will start, backed up by Brent Burnette. Hansen is not well developed as a pocket passer, we don't lose much by starting Hirshman. Run the ball and then play action with Hirshman.

Tall enough to see over the line. . . . . and have a strong enough arm to throw the ball 30 yards downfield without having to wind up and take three steps into the pass. Different than what we have seen for much of the past few years.

I think that Embree and Bienemy will hold a true open competition and I think Hansen will come out ahead because of his experience. I also think he may step up significantly having coaching that has a clear focus and isn't looking for a reason to put him back on the bench in favor of the coaches son.

That said it also wouldn't surprise me if either Burnette or Hirrshman steps up and takes the job. Hansen is a hard worker but has his weaknesses, the other two are just to unknown to count out considering the situation.

I have my doubts about Hansen, new Offense for everyone, Hirshman, Burnette, Doreman all come from Pro- style offense. Hansen played in the spread last year.

Tyler Hansen......DUH!!!! its his job to lose. Burnette and Hirschman will light fire under his ass but it wont be a big one. they cant do what Tyler can do
