Slightly OT - Oregon's Matt Knight Arena

Last night Uncle Phil opened up his new toybox for the Ducks - Matt Knight Arena. Named after his son who died in a scuba accident.

I don't have too much problem with them putting in a new arena, the one they replaced was built in 1927 and only had 4 bathrooms (according to Prime Ticket who broadcast the USC - UO game last night). They were overdue.

State of the art, Oregon and Nike being Oregon and Nike, but to the point of this post - good god the court flooring is brutal. Especially in HD.

Do a quick google image search for "Mathew Knight arena floor". The pictures with a tremendous glare, that is what it looks like in HD.

I don't think it is going to be real hard to develop an animosity for UO with the all the Nike/Phil Knight involvement.

I think after the football offices are done for the Ducks, there will probably be one last thing on the to do list and that is expanding their football stadium. There are no NFL teams in Oregon (and Utah) so they would get more fan support that way. They are going to start a waiting list for season football tickets to see if expansion is feasible or not.

A lot of people complaining about the heinous glare instead of the disgusting court....think they'd take some of these things into consideration when investing millions (course when money grows on trees, doesn't really matter)

That court is totally bad ass. Wish we had one with the flatirons.

Dude, I think that court is pretty nice and I saw the still photo of that court with the game going on. Nothing too distracting.

Leave it to Oregon to muck up a perfectly good basketball floor. Of course, if they hold true to form, they'll never play on the same floor twice.

Yeah, but that glare changes colors every second....so would go from Green to Yellow to Blue....seen some video, after about 2-3 minutes only way I could watch a came with that **** going on is if it were the Buffs playing

Wasnt CU's court god awful at one time? I remember a huge buffalo on it that looked like it had feathers. Did that happen or was it some kind of wierd ass dream? I think Billy Law or something like that was the point at that time.

Once Billy Law graduated, all of the hair care stores in Boulder went out of business.

I"m sure the officials love it when trying to determine OB plays. Honestly, too, I'd think it would be kind of harder to pick up the ball on bounce passes and such. It probably provides somewhat of a home court advantage in that way.
