We are having our best season since 2003, just beat a top-5 team and did so in thrilling fashion and yet there
are currently twice as many people viewing the f***ing football forums then the basketball one. By this time
tommorow night it will probably have 5 times as many viewers. I realize that most people care more about football
then basketball, I do too, but come on. Football season doesent start for over 6 months, and signing day isint for
almost a year. I just dont get it. Personally, I find today game much more interetsing then how many bench press
reps Jimmy Smith did at the combine, but I guess most people dont agree.

Prepare to be disappointed it will always be this way.

It is suprising that more people arent talking basketball. If this was football the internet would be blowing up about this win. Football always has and always will be king.

Thats what im sayin

I fully admit that basketball isn't my thing. I didn't tune in until 3 minutes left in tonight's game. It's amazing how winning energizes band wagon CU MBB fans like me.

After 5 average to poor seasons of football, any signs of success from a major revenue generating sport is welcome.

It's great to see the Keg sell out and watch MBB pull their own weight. If the Buffs handle ISU and Nebraska like they did Texas, KSU x 2 and the early conference game against Mizzou, it'll be fun to see the Buff fans continue to come out of the woodwork in force for March Madness.

Boyle if off to a pretty good start. Let's see how deep these Buffs can go.

True.

Imagine how the cross country and skiing teams feel.

Still, excitement, promise, quality coaching, dynamic players doing dynamic things. These will draw fans.

Never been much of b-ball fan but having had the pleasure of watching this team beat KSUx2, Mizzou and now Texas has made me an ardent believer in this team, these players and this coach. Fun to watch.

Tonight was the antithesis of the Kansas football game.

It's building. I think that's kind of cool, really. There's that feeling with CU hoops that we're at the beginning of something special.

As far as web traffic, it's so much more than it used to be. Even in the fall at the height of football season, we were having discussions on basketball recruiting. That wasn't really happening before. And now hoops recruiting is getting enough attention to have its own forum. Pretty great.

Now if only the student section would start showing up in force to every bball game rather than the big ones. And that whole show up early thing should be applied to every sporting event from football to basketball. I hate marching pregame to a half empty stadium.

4 sell outs this season. Winning brings crowds and students will respond if there is a quality team to cheer for. Tad and Bohn need to generate the enthusiasm to support Bball. Football, we Neanderthals will show up.

won't continue to much on that because it will turn into a football discussion in the bball thread but I think the stadium should be almost full before pregame. Its not like CU has never won, and its not like we don't have a tradition. Hopefully the enthusiasm building in the student section in the Keg carries over to Folsom in 6+ more months.

I will be there for Ralphie's run but before that I'm getting my tailgate on.

With our top 3 and probably 4 scorers leaving after this year, im just concerned that we will be average at best next year and will lose all of this momentum currently around the program. Roberson and Duffalt are probably our #2 and 3 scoring options for next year. Thats a scary thought. Hopefully one of our incomming freshman will turn in to a steal alla Burks and Higgins.

Our defense and rebounding will be special next year. We need to find another scorer to go with Brown, but we'll be just fine. And if Burks comes back, we could be really special.

It takes a while to change a culture. While I'm by no means advocating CU becoming a basketball school *instead* of a football school, hopefully we can reach a point where both programs receive tremendous support. The true sign of a fan base that cares isn't selling out today's game - it will be selling out next Saturday's game against Nebraska.

The true sign will come when we dont have to talk about a sellout as if its some special occurance. The CEC isint that big, we should be able to fill it up regularly.

Funny thing is CU would most definitely be in the top half of the Pac12 in attendance this year, if not the top third behind Zona, Washington, UCLA (even UCLA has struggled w/ attendance) and possibly Wazzu. This was the fifth sellout this season, hopefully it can get to the point where most conference games are sold out. Of course only consistent success can produce that - frankly the attendance at critical conference games against Texas A&M and Kansas State a few weeks ago was not what one would have hoped simply because the Buffs had dropped a couple before that.

ummm. we sold out the KSU game. It just took a bit for the students to show up

and ya, the bball forum is way more active than it has ever been. A lot of that credit goes to Nik and crew though for reporting on recruiting and getting quality threads up. As with all things involving Colorado Fans, if you build it, they will come...

Nik and the crew deserve some serious props for everything they've done to this forum.

Give CU fans time to adjust. Five sellouts in one season is awesome and should be a sign of things to come. I'm very football centric but I'm trying to be more basketball centric and I plan on being that because money is corrupting football these days.

I feel that basketball at CU will be worth following over the next few years and I am working on being more basketball focused than football focused. The PAC 12 has the edge over the Big 12 in basketball when it comes to history.

Things are headed in the right direction. I think Burks stays and if that happens, watch out. It has been a fun season. My son and I have been to a bunch of games and yesterday he asked if we could get season tickets next year. He is 12 and heading to middle school. The attitudes will change if the product stays good. This year it has been better than average and great at times. We will see the bball team move this sport into the black for CU and that will help everyone out. Tad is doing a good job and I think he will build something special. Two years form now could be really fun.

Not only is Tad killing it this year, but he costs less than Bzzz. THANKS FOR LEAVING BUZZ!
