CU Buff women WNIT eligible

With one regular season game and the Big 12 tournament to play, the Buffs can finish no worse than 15-15. That .500 record is enough to make the Buffs WNIT-eligible, and a berth in that 64-team tournament seems likely given the depth of the Big 12 Conference.

Men could learn a thing or two from the gutsy play the women have shown on the road @ Mizzou and Nebraska.

That's a sweep of Nebraska for the women!! What a great win - the WNIT would be a HUGE stepping stone for this program. Way to go Buffs!!!

And this team was picked to finish in 12th place in the Big 12 coaches per-season poll!! Way to go Coach Lappe and this gutsy women's team.

If you can, come on out to Coors early Saturday (2PM tip-off) and support the ladies at Senior Day for Britney Spears, Britney Blythe and Chelsea Dale. And cheer the team on as they try to work some magic against the #3 Baylor Bears featuring sophmore 6'8" Brittney Griner and outstanding freshman PG Odyssey Sims.

This team is coming around, and I was too quick to judge them as not having it together. And from what is being said about their recruiting, more good things are to come. Congratulations!

If women and men both end up playing in NIT, it will be interesting to see who wins more games in their respective tournaments. Women have really shown something here beating Oklahoma and then winning two straight games on the road - wouldn't it be something if they gave Baylor a game. Is Britney Griner taller than everyone playing for us except Ben Mills?

Both men's and women's teams have improved as the season as gone on. But, as you say, the women have followed their recent home win over a ranked team with 2 road wins. Any post season is a huge improvement for the women, given where they were and how they played and their total lack of progress under the previous coaching staff.

As for Griner ... not quite. She's 6'8", I believe, which makes Dufault the only regular player taller than she is with Mills, Harris-Tunks, Beckley, and Eckloff also taller.
