9:30 to play and KU is up 7.

If Missouri loses, CU would tie them for 5th in the conference with a win today and own the tiebreaker for the Big 12 tourney.

If they come back to upset KU, the Buffs will be alone in 6th place (assuming that Baylor loses at Texas).

Go jayhawks?

I kind of prefer the 6 seed. Opener with Oklahoma (instead of Iowa State). 2nd round with Texas A&M (Instead of Missouri). Semi-final with Texas (instead of Kansas). It's a better draw for us. Especially when you consider which fans will come to Kansas City.

But a 5 seed isn't the end of the world, either. Finishing 5th in the conference makes a small statement. And we should beat ISU.

Word. KU up by 10 with 5:44 left.

ISU is a great home team, but terrible on the road. I think we have a decent shot to beat them in a neutral court, but it won't be easy.

Any idea what happens if Baylor beats Texass? That would put Mizzou, Baylor and CU (assuming we win tonight, and the alternative is too awful to think about) in a tie for 5th at 8-8. Mizzou beat Baylor, Baylor beat CU and CU and Mizzou split.

I have no idea. So suck it up and cheer for Bevo today. Ugh. :puke:

According to the bracket generator, it would go:

5. Baylor (8 - 8) Defeated Colorado based on head-to-head record.
6. Colorado (8 - 8) Defeated Missouri based on record against #2 North Division teams. Lost to Baylor based on head-to-head record.
7. Missouri (8 - 8) Lost to Colorado based on record against #2 North Division teams.

looks to me Mizzou has played their way into a double digit seed. i think they are "in", but tough seeding.

9-7, we'd be candy.

I disagree, they might get the #6 seed in the Big 12 and have to play Oklahoma in the 1st round and A&M in the 2nd and I think they can beat both of those teams.

i mean the NCAA double dig seed. me, you, and a couple other guys that post could beat OU.....they'll have a defacto home court against aTm, but i don't think there's any way MU doesn't get a bid. 10 seed or something....which sucks for us and Baylor....but nonetheless.

I know what you meant and they will probably end up a 6-7 seed in the tourney, unless they somehow lose their first game in the Big 12 tourney.

anyway, just to state the obvious on a Sat afternoon....i don't see how the football branch of the NCAA doesn't see how obsessive people/fans/consumers can be about a real playoff. there's no way a Weedeater Bowl system makes otherwise smart sports homers lay awake at night more than the NCAA tournament.

i'll get this out of the way too: i would a drink a thousand beers and piss on Jim Nantz's BS sports "poetry" about the Masters. right now. right now in his face. big splatter. Nantz is closing his eyes, Mick with the full-fisted hose....
