So obviously I'm a big duke fan, right? Every few years or so, Duke fans argue about whether such and such should have their jersey retired. Players have been fun to follow, meant a lot to the program, accomplished a lot personally, etc.

CU has rarely had players that ever earn that type of discussion. Even though I don't think Higgins should have his jersey retired, I do think he deserves some type of discussion. To me, he has meant a lot to this program. It's been so much fun seeing him develop as a talented freshman, to a stud junior, to a solid senior, letting go of his own ego so that a good sophomore could take center stage (w/o Cory, Burks does not get the chances he gets). He is my second favorite Buff bball player of all time after Chaunc. He may not deserve a retired number, but he deserves some type of official recognition. I wish him the best in the future, and I hope that eventually he makes it to the CU HOF. More than Burks, Higgins represents CU bball in my opinion.

Nice post. Rep. Love Cory and I really hope everyone appreciates the guy. He brought it every night when he was the only guy on the roster who belonged on a Big 12 court. He brought it when he was injured to the point of pissing blood. He was unselfish about his own stats to do what was best for the team as a senior.

Great Buff. An all-timer, for sure.

His number should for sure go up with the other banners. His name number and memory should always have a place in our home gym.

Higgins reminds me of Stephone Pelle in that he's about the best all-around basketball player on CU's team, for a couple years straight while guys like Morandais, Harrison, Burks get the media love. quietly gets his 14 a game

<3 Higgins. I like his demeanor and how he gets it done for the most part every game. My second favorite CU player of all time behind Chris Copeland.

Good post. Higgins has to be up there as a Buff favorite. I genuinely believe that we will look at guys like Higgins and Knutson in a similar way as we view some Buff football stars who came in the mid-80's, guys who came in here and established the traditions of a winner and laid the groundwork to make big-time success possible at CU in these respective sports.

This is exactly why I think Higgins has a shot at being a multiyear pro. Everybody gets excited about the stars and looks for the next potential all-star but there is only one basketball on the floor and each team can only send out five guys at a time. On a pure talent basis there are guys out of the league who are better than guys like Anthony Carter of the Nuggets and a bunch of others in the league who are very good at being good role players and supporting the big names. Higgins has proven that he will do what it takes to help his team win before doing what makes him look good.

He's going to need to get the right situation but it makes you appreciate whathe has done at CU in some trying circumstances.

Chris Copeland??? Not that he is a bad guy or anything, but what makes him your fav. CU player?

A couple of good memories I had of Chris was when he went home to Richmond and played the Spiders, he had some ridiclous game, something like 25 points, and for the most part dominated the game. That was I think my first CU road basketball game, and probably the last time I have seen them win on the road :(

I also like how he got shot, literally shot with a gun in Boulder, and was back playing within a week or two.

my favorite all time player was Dominique Coleman that guy played like his hair was on fire.

What I've liked most about Higgins this year is that he knows when to defer and when to take over. I can't remember what game it was, I think maybe against OSU, but we were not playing well and Higgins just took over for about five possessions. He hit a three, a runner, and got to the foul line. Then once the team was back to running, he stepped back and played within the flow of the offense. Buffs will definitely miss that leadership next year.

copeland??...huh...interesting. I really like how Boyle has Cory playing point at times...I like him a lot better than Nate there...but that's not saying much, because I think Nate really needs to improve his game this offseason.

Lol, he's one of my favorites too. Grabbed a game worn Cope jersey from one of the garage sales a few years back.

Lamar Harris has to be my #1 favorite forgotten Buff player, however

Wish the Buffs would play in VA or nearby again! Bball or football!! The football game at WVU doesn't count since it was under Hawk and it's not safe to be a visiting fan in Morgantown. The women did play at UVA last year

Once again, I reiterate, Higgins has represented the Buffs amazingly well over the last four years...better than anyone I can think of since Chuanc. Even then, he stayed twice as long as Billups, building this program up. I hope scouts that were there to see Burks saw what Higgins could do. (disclaimer: I'm basing these comments solely on the stat line, because I'm in Canada working right now...it seems like he did great)

Higgins put this team on his back and carried them in the second half when kstate locked down Burks. Senior leadership baby.

Best game of Cory's career when it was all on the line. Amazing effort.
