Lunardi's Bracketology Update: post-KSU

Lunardi's update at the end of all the action today. Buffs are in the "Last Byes (avoid Dayton)" category with Villanova, Michigan, and Clemson. If any of those teams need to drop down and go to Dayton, then Villanova should be the first given their pathetic 5 losses in a row heading into the dance.

Tomorrow is the most bubble-icious day of college basketball all year:
-Georgia/Alabama is a play-in game. Loser is done.
-Lunardi has said Mich. St has to beat Purdue or they're done.
-BC/Clemson. If BC loses they are in serious trouble. If Clemson loses they're playing in Dayton and could fall out altogether
-PSU/Wisconsin: A PSU win gets them close. Still need 1 more after that
-USC/Zona: A win probably gets the Trojans in the field for now
-VT/FSU: A VT loss makes VT the most bubbly of teams for 4th yr in a row.
-Michigan/Illinois: Illini are safe, so hope they knock UM into Dayton

Wow, tomorrow would be wonderful

In which case we may fail into Last 4 in again? Hopefully Umich and Clemson will lose tomorrow, then we must be more safe

I think we're pretty safe from falling back into Dayton. A loss to the #1 team isn't going to harm us, and as you mention, Michigan and Clemson may very well lose. Even if they don't, Villanova is most definitely deserving to fall into Dayton before CU should. At least two of the "Last Four" will likely lose tomorrow, and only Michigan St is playing a really good team (Purdue) in which a victory would really propel them forward like CU's win did. We're in great shape. CBSSports has pointed out that the KU game will only further improve CU's computer profile, win or lose.

If the buffs get denied, I wont watch a single college basketball game ever again! We are 4-4 against ranked teams and 1 win away from matching our most wins ever in a season for crying out loud!

We might fall in if a few teams come from out of nowhere and win some conference tournaments. Root against underdogs in most of the other tournaments.

He currently has us slotted as an 11-seed playing Cincinnati in Tucson, and if we won the 3-seed we would face would be SDSU. Damm I'd love our chances of getting the Sweet 16 under this scenario!

Not going to get picky over any spot....but hard to stomach Mizzou and Kjuco with higher seeds then our Buffs....obviously we're 3x better than the purple squad and Mizzou definitely hasn't proved to be better than the Buffs in the Big 12 so why in the NCAA?

Probably the reality of the situation....but still hard to stomach

If we keep playing like we did yesterday we will get a #1 Seed.

That would be a great draw for us - we are better than Cincy. I'd rather have a good draw away from Denver than be in Denver in a tough draw at this point.

We are a very dangerous Tourney team - who the hell would want to play us right now?

If we win the Big 12 tourney the draw would be incredible. An elite 8 berth out of the slot is not difficult goes through Vandy or Louisville and if its Vandy, mizzou already showed they can at least beat them. Getting to the Final Four would go through the Tar Heels.

If we're gonna be a double-digit seed, this might be the best. 11 seed vs 6 seed is a favorable matchup. If you win the first round game you get the 3 seed -- a win there avoids facing the #1 in your side of the bracket.

I'm not sure what seeds mizzery or kJsu are currently projected as, be we should be as high as they are.

Nothing will get CU a #1 seed. Even if we win the Big 12 tournament, the best we can hope for is maybe a #4 or #5, IMO.

I have to say, though, that it's really cool to be talking about seeding CU in the tournament.

This morning on the radio. Said he still has CU out, needing a W vs. KU. Also said that there is no east coast bias, but had Michigan, Mich St. and every other bubble team in before CU.

Does he have any history of good predictions? Does he have an "in" on the selection committee? Is he an east-coast pos hack?

Rosie Palm is losing all credibility. Can't match Lunardi's exposure or accuracy. Plus, all Lunardi's stuff is basically free. This is a desperate man trying to make news.

He is a POS that contradicts himself with his own logic, conference wins not a major factor, but then talks about big east and what a tough conference. Also said something along the lines of big wins (CU vs UT) does not have any impact on the committee. It was pretty clear in listening to him that he has not seen a single CU game all year.

Thanx for the response. I reread my own post and it looked pretty snide. I'm glad you saw thru that and gave some actually info to my questions.

This idot is trying to charge for his predictions/service? Good luck with that.

Who is jerry?

I second this....

who is this guy????

and why do people get so upset over someone's opinion? we all have opinions and some of us are right, some of us are wrong...

even the experts are wrong a fair amount of the time....

Runs collegerpi.com Guess he predicted the entire field last year, but I can't find dick about results before that.
