A win tonight over KU=

I say our 62-36 in basketball

GO BUFFS!!!

62-36 exposed the fuskers as a fraud. A win over KU would do no such thing, as KU is anything but a fraud. I would equate this to the 20-3 victory over OU in 1989. The "Things have Changed" game.

Not even close to 62-36. A comparable 62-36 moment would be us facing Kansas in the tourney and we crush them and send them home and set the program back 10 years where they don't make the tourney 5 out of 10 years and when they do, they are a 8 seed or higher. We really set Nebraska back that day.

I'd say our Texas win earlier in the year was equal to OU in 2007 because we were behind big to top teams and came back and won.

Since football really doesn't have a tourney it is really hard to compare, but it might be something like our 2001 victory over Texas in the Big 12 championship. We were not favored to win that game and we are not favored to win tonight. Both games were basically home games for the opponent and a win versus Texas in 01 solidified a BCS bowl for us while a win today versus KU would absolutely solidify a tourney invite for us.

This isn't about setting KU back, it's about quality of win for the CU program. Regardless of how we set the fuskers back, at the time it was a quality win. A win over a football power that had our number for years in a game to advance to the championship game. KU is a bball power thats always been a thorn in our side and if we win we are in the championship.

It is almost identical to 62-36

I will agree with that only if the final score of this game is:

CU 62
KU 36

why wouldn't it be more like our win versus Texas that same year?

if we win, i'd say this is a pretty major win in my lifetime of CU sports....especially hoops. i've seen a lot of bad CU basketball in person. all the Mac wins like "things have changed" (which WAS huge) are legitimated after the fact by the NC and the top 5 years in the early 90's. Barnett winning the Big XII was huge. 07 OU, not legitimated after the fact....while it was fun and great....not sure what it means in the Big Picture. 86 Nebraska and Soup Campbell, anyone.

everything to gain, nothing to lose tonight. lead with your best punch and if Morningstar and Evans have the crap shooting nights they had against OSU....who knows?

this will be one of those times the neutral court ain't so neutral, however.

wow, some people really just dont get it:rolling_eyes:

You seem to want people to agree with your original premise. Just do not buy it, sorry.

A win tonight would be very big for CU basketball. It would be one of the coolest wins in my lifetime of watching CU basketball. But I could two ****s how it compares the football program. I would rather the win stand on its own without having to be the "62-36 game" for the basketball program. I'm just enjoying one of the best seasons we have had in a while.

No, people are just having a hard time following instructions. It's not worth your time. I know you think you're **** don't stink and you know it all. I'm not gonna buy it

Fine. Although, I think Sacky's answer is probably a good one.

Actually thinking about it, it does seem to compare closely to 2001 Big 12 football championship against UT. We will be deep in their territory with them favored and us still glowing from the key win.

sorry that turned out to be the wrong answer apparently.
