yea, it is well worth it and the pic was revealed on our site! Very much an AB scoop by one of our golden members!

Well I'm not a huge fan of naming rights but I agree with what has been said here and at this point am all for it as long as they keep Folsom in the final name - Frontier Stadium at Folsom Field whatever. We REALLY REALLY need the money right now and honestly Frontier is about as good as an option out there. From a positive stand point the name actually fits for CU. "Frontier" fits geographically and also an Airline is a good sponsor for us considering our large out of state student population. -- Much better than Papa Johns, Quicken Loans Arena etc.

Like somebody said earlier I would LOVE to see them put a Buffalo on one of their planes. The Marketing would be awesome.

Frontier is a better sounding than some Colorado based companies....Cinch Jeans Stadium....Crocs Field at Folsom...

Thought I remember this coming up a few years ago given Bohn's relationship with the AD at Louisville. I'm all for it if it raises a nice chunk of change but I would like to see some real transparency into where the additional funds are being allocated.

I think it was reposted on Rivals, so that is the more likely source for Ringo

I sent a message to Ringo to try to get confirmation for everyone.

Golden, do you want to leave this thread in Barzil or move it to the football forum? Your thread, your call.

Wait, someone reposted from Barzil to Rivals, but we can't repost from Rivals to Barzil?

Moved and merged with the new thread.

AllBuffs had it first, thanks to our own GoldenBuff. We then sent the story out to contacts at Rivals and Scout/Ringo to verify and try to get additional information. Also because we try to work with those sites. But GoldenBuff was the man.

How 'bout giving the dude some rep, folks?

Oh yeah... club membership has its privileges.

P.S. The big unanswered question for GoldenBuff: By any chance, the lunch you were eating when you snapped that photo... was it, by chance, a burrito?

With stuff from premium sites such as Rivals, Scout and AZ's Buffscoop the issue is with taking their content that people have paid for and putting it on a free board. That's not cool at all. The Club Membership at Allbuffs isn't really for scoop, it's kind of a side benefit that we get sometimes.

Regarding premium site info, in some cases I have gotten permission from people at one of those sites and then re-posted things in Barzil. In other cases, I've re-posted premium content in Barzil once it had migrated from one premium message board to another and, therefore, broken the exclusivity wall. Others have followed that same M.O. We try to be careful about breaking that exclusivity wall ourselves.

In this particular case, one of the Rivals board administrators asked me if I would post the info on the Rivals board. I asked Golden if he was cool with it. We agreed that as long as we were able to get an Allbuffs mention in the Rivals post (which we did) and also re-post anything learned there over here (we did), then it made sense to go ahead and post the info on Rivals.

IF Frontier is paying for stadium naming rights, I hope part of the deal includes upgraded video boards.

As an airline geek, I love this...Im hoping maybe Frontier will paint up one of their fleet in CU colors as well at some point...that would be mindblowingly awesome (and there is precedent as Horizon Air has a few of their fleet painted up in the colors of schools in the Pacific NW)...

This would be pretty damn cool. Or at least their Buffalo is renamed Ralphie gets a roll in the TV commercials.

I am glad the deal involves keeping "Folsom Field" in the name that will be good for keeping the stadium known as Folsom. Frontier Stadium actually sounds pretty badass to me though and almost like it isnt a corporate sponsor but more of a nod to the Wild West history. As long as they dont try to squeeze airlines in their its good with me.

I am worried that the name Folsom Field will die, like Mile High did.
I'm not so worried about that. When they rebranded Mile High as Invesco, they were branding a new stadium. It was easier to go along with that rebranding, especially since the new stadium felt nothing like the old stadium. Therefore, people were much more willing to let the new stadium be "Invesco" in their minds. With Folsom Field, it has been Folsom for so long, and the stadium isn't changing, so I doubt anyone from the "old guard" is going to let the Folsom Field name fade away.
