Good run in the NIT for them. They're pretty good every year. Close to CU, too. I'd like to see them make it to MSG. Be a good opportunity for the coaches and ADs to discuss a home & home series for the non-conference. I'd expect it would be well attended for both programs. Solid RPI game for both, too.

They're up 37-25 at half on Charleston, so it looks like they'll advance.

plus they have a connection with tad... boyle was turgeons lead assistant at Wichita St

Ive always heard that Wich. State is one of the tougher mid-major environments to play in...based on how the crowd has been during their game vs. the Fuskers and tonight, I find it hard to disagree with that...

i'd say Creighton fits the same profile. Creighton fills their gym, too. 10,000 or some shizz, not some rinky dink bandbox. Missouri Valley is a solid mid-major. Tulsa, too. we did have a home-home with Tulsa but we were awful. and we've had the Houston, TCU, SMU...discussion as well. UTEP, UNM, NMSU, Utah State.....Texas Tech just down the way, really. closer than Dallas.

Charleston making it interesting down the stretch...one kid of theirs, Goudelock, has drilled a couple of 3's from beyond Jimmer range...

I'm a Wichita native, been going to games for a long time. I've been to Allen fieldhouse and Koch arena and I can legitametly say that they are comprable In game atmosphere. They have trouble playing down to their comp, hence not dominating the conference like they should have this year. they play ten guys who all can score, and have a burks-esque guy in David kyles(still not as good, but a freak athlete). Whoever thinks frank Martin is the most intense coach in the NCAA is obviously suckling the espn Teet and hasn't seen Gregg Marshall. I invite you all to go to a game in Wichita if you never have, as it is a premiere experience in college basketball IMO.

If the buffs make it to the finals against wsu, I'm going to have to be neutral. I used to be a shox season ticket holder.

Turgeon's staff had some great names on it. Tad of course and also Poo Williamson

My cousin is a freshman basketball manager for Wichita State. If we make it to the finals I hope we play them

GO WUSHOX!!!

I'm happy for them. Two of my best friends from high school (not HS sweethearts, but wound up together years later) live up there and my wife and I go see them every so often. Because of that, WSU has sort of become my adopted mid-major to keep up with in hoops. Koch Arena is awesome and the Shox are usually very fun to watch. They're kind of like a Gonzaga or Butler that has been close in the past to crossing over the hump but just aren't consistent enough annually to make the leap.

But yeah, that's a fun program. I think their coach, Marshall, makes in the $1 mil range and they support the heck out of that team so it's a great place to be. Turgeon had a lot of success there before finally deciding to stop waiting on KU and head to A&M. MVC hoops is pretty fun to watch. I'd love to go to the MVC tourney in St. Louis one year just to see all the teams in one place. It's a really good hoops league. I'm glad WSU and CU are there - I'll definitely watch those games in NYC now.

The home and home would be great, I could catch them in my soon to be hometown in KS. Hopefully we play them in the finals. Buffs would have to win, so I have bragging rights over the wife (WSU alumnus).

Home and home with Wichita State would be better than a home game against Western New Mexico or Maryland-Eastern Shore

yes that is why I said better and not worse. We need to look at teams like Wisconsin, Michigan State, Kentucky or Florida

Those are fine teams to look at, but you can't go all-in with major non-cons. Grab a couple, but mix them in with games against mid-majors like WSU. Then toss in the weak schools.

A home and home with a Wichita State would be very good for us. Or another good Valley team, such as UNI or Missouri State or Indiana State.
