Creatini, I went ahead and merged. Then switched your dup profile into a highlight.

My fault on this one since I hadn't added Maass to the Index.

Creatini, you're like BB's mini me.

That kid looks big and looks like he could get bigger. How's the footwork?

Looks more strong than athletic to me. Solid player and Mission Viejo is a nice school to build some ties with, Brian Lockridge went there.

"Colorado was actually one of my favorite schools even before they offered me. ... I really like what they have going on over there. It is a good school and I like their move into the Pac-12. They are going to be playing road games closer to my area. I like their coaches, too. They seem like nice guys and they seem to know what they are doing."

Short of a USC offer materializing, I like our chances here. (And I don't expect Troy to come calling given their limited scholarships this cycle with a couple OLs already committed.)

I think there is a lot of talent in the west, but if we miss out on some of the local kids...

If the talent is equal I would always prefer to get the local kids. That said if the local kids decide to go someplace else then as long as we are getting talented kids we will be okay.

This team needs a major infusion of talent. The depth at a number of positions is questionable and will get worse with graduation this year.

Bottom line is it doesn't matter where the talent comes from if we are winning. At the same time if the Buffs can get back to winning games and representing themselves well on the field then a lot fewer of the local kids will turn down the opportunity to wear black and gold.

What is the hold up here? Is he waiting on something better than San Jose State or CU?

Good question. May be that he wants to see what all his options may be before committing, may be that our coaches aren't pressuring for an early verbal, could be a bit of both.

The hold up for most Cali kids is Colo is a long way from home and they will often hold out for offers in this approximate order:

1a. USC
1b. Oregon
2. UCLA
3. Cal, ASU, UofA (half day drive from home, warm weather -easy roadtrip for a game with 1 night stay)
4. Other PAC12 schools and SDSU (just lately - we'll see if they can hold that attractiveness post Hoke leaving)

The close-to-home factor isn't just about family. Friends who seem important to them now, many of which they'll not stay in touch with, all want to come cheer. This will always be CU's biggest obstacle. If you get really good (BCS contender good - see Ducks above), this matters far less.

SDSU is going to take a nose dive this year without Hoke.

Not really. Rocky Long is a decent coach in his own right and that team still has some talent.

This is not a big loss. His teammate is the much bigger prize.

Could grades have been a factor here? We all know SDSU will allow anyone in.

I don't think grades are an issue, but you never know. I think distance from home was the big factor here.

People bitch about getting a verbal from a 3* with "limited" offers, and then the bitch about not getting a verbal from a 3* with "limited" offers.

I wish the season would start already.

FYI we are not all the same person. Im seeing a repeated pattern of weak ol recruiting.
