Report from the Chicago Best Buy Classic on May 28th:

Danuel House (Houston TX / Team: Texas Pro)
2012, SF, 6-6, 185 lbs.

Danuel rocked the 'House' to the tune of 22 points in Texas Pro's win over Ohio Basketball Club. House, who's considering Baylor, Houston, TCU among others, plays well above the rim and can get to the tin from the perimeter with explosive quickness.

Absolutely blowing up on the AAU circuit.

More offers are sure to come, will be tough to land him. Unfortunately these are the types of players we need to become a top-25 team. You can't just rely on finding diamonds in the rough.

The athletic forward says he is considering Arizona, Houston, Baylor, Missouri, Georgetown, Texas, Oregon, Kansas, Ohio State and Georgia Tech

Go East young man. No Arizona, no Oregon and no Baylor, Texas or Kansas (on principle alone there).

Why would House signing with Houston hurt our odds with Caruso?

The return of Phi Slamma Jamma, I guess.

Houston should join TCU in the Big East.

Houston using the SMU system for getting recruits attention? Kids with this many options picking UH is a little surprising at least.

There was some discussion about Tad using Spencer's scholarship on a transfer, if he leaves. Don't know if Danuel is interested, or if we are interested, but I see that we offered him back in 2012. House's transfer is caught up in legal wrangling at UofH, but ultimately I expect he'll be released.

Two University of Houston star men's basketball players met with university representatives Thursday in the latest effort to secure their requests to transfer to other schools. In separate closed-door hearings, junior TaShawn Thomas and sophomore Danuel House, the Cougars' leading scorers last season, met with a three-person committee to plead their cases to overturn the school's decision to deny their requests from earlier this month.
A ruling on both cases is expected within 48 hours.

Would love to get him. Especially if we had attrition from somewhere other than Spencer.

Not sure he's the best fit if Spencer leaves, though. I'd have my eyes set on a grad transfer guard with a good handle and high % shooting from FT and 3pt. Someone who could spell Dom or allow Tad to bring him along slowly.

Could he get a waiver to play immediately? Averaged 12.4/4.9/1.8 as a frosh and 13.6/5.3/1.9 as a soph. Rather pedestrian as a 3-pt shooter though.
