2nd Team All-County last year. Not a ton of info on him yet. Looks like we're in early.

He and Maass are very good friends. Be nice to land them both.

He is starting to get more attention. The Spring Evaluation Period has reaped several offers for him.

I like him quite a bit, hope we can get him to Boulder for a visit.

I think we will get Cyburt. He has said that USC wants him to go to their rising stars camp and they'll decide then if they will offer. I just don't think given their scholarship situation that they go after Cyburt. He's a good player, but not the caliber USC is probably trying to get this year.

He's a step up in talent from some of the guys USC took last year solely because they were willing to commit and could enroll early. May be different this year, but Troy is struggling in recruiting outside of So Cal.

Isn't that like saying UT is struggling outside Texas? Do they care (much)?

A bit like saying that, yeah. One of the Oklahoma head coaches once said that the USC head coach passes more D1 talent on his way into work than Oklahoma has in the entire state.

But it is telling that USC isn't able to go across the country and pick its guys. When they were recently dominant, players like Williams and Cushing had a lot to do with it.

I just figure they're holding those scholarships for kids that are really elite. Players like Colby Cyburt are damn good and most years could maybe get a USC offer, but I just think they'll hold out for the big timers this year. That said, I'm sure they'll offer him at the camp and he'll commit on the spot.

According to AZ (free home page preview) kid was in town with a teammate, that also has a CU offer, this past weekend for a visit. No indication in the free stuff of how it went for either of them.

Cyburt and Maass both visited. Both had really enjoyed it. Waiting on details. I think Cyburt wants to see what all his options are before committing. I'd like to get Maass on board quickly.

Seems like this is a perfect situation for Mr. Dillon to display some leadership and get these guys committed. Something along the lines of "We can build something amazing here, I just need a stud OL to do it."

ESPN's Greg Biggins just did an interview. It sounds like if USC doesn't offer then it will either be CU or Stanford.

Here'e what Cyburt said about the Buffs:

"I just visited Colorado last weekend and loved it there. They have a beautiful campus and I like the new coaching staff a lot. Steve Marshall is the OL coach and we hit it off. My relationship with my position coach is another big factor for me."

Rivals rating has Cyburt just below a 4* with a 5.7 rating (5.8 is 4*).

This would be a positive pickup for the state of CA. and the mission Viejo area. Hopefully we can get Maase too.

Before he makes his decision, there is one more school Cyburt would like to have on that list: USC. He said the Trojans are close to offering him, and they are only being held back by limited scholarships due to NCAA sanctions.

However, an offer from USC would not guarantee Cyburt's commitment to the school.

"Just the prestige of having an offer from USC is a big deal," he said. "Whether I go there or not, just having that offer gives me a lot more opportunities."
