I was surprised we didn't offer him way back when we offered Powe.

Yeah. I hope we're not late. But odds are we've been in contact for a long time. Anthony Tucker (CU Tech Intern - Offense) used to be the OC and WR Coach at Lakewood.

:pissed:

Can't say I'm a fan of losing recruits to Arizona or Oregon State..

While Oregon St isn't a powerhouse, Riley is a good coach up there with a proven track record. He's done more with less than just about any coach in the nation, currently. We need to start seeing Ws on the field and we can make sure those schools won't snatch up guys like this anymore.

I agree Riley is a good coach, I just hate seeing us come behind Arizona, Oregon State, Boise.. Those are teams I would like to think we would beat more often than not in the recruiting game. I'm basically pissed that we are now having trouble against those schools thanks to Hawk and his crew of retards. Instead of worrying about our recruiting battles against Oregon, Cal, UW, we now have to worry about our battles against Boise and Oregon State. Sweet.

Looking at his offer list he also turned down some heavy hitters that will always be big fish: Michigan, ND and to a lesser extent UDub and then you have Duke (great school, bad team, but academics can matter to some people). We are still going after the recruits that a lot of teams want. Even if we don't get everyone--and we won't--that's more than you can say about Hawk's last recruiting class, which Embree saved at the last minute.

Keith Heyward is the main recruiter in the Los Angeles area for Oregon State. Really young assistant coach who is going to make a name for himself sooner rather than later.

I realize Brent Brennan was his primary recruiter, but I am guessing Heyward had a major role in landing Gilmore as well.

You're right, I never really thought we had a great shot at Gilmore to begin with. I just want some positive momentum in recruiting!
