How do you see our Buffs doing this season in the Pac-12?

Not in the poll, but are you thinking NCAA, NIT, CBI or no post-season?

Cbi-ish. We lost to much and our seniors are anything but proven. Doesn't mean we don't have talent tho, just young

4th behind Arizona, UW, and UCLA. On the bubble team, if we do get sent to the NIT, I think we would get a 1 or 2 seed

Pac-12 is in major rebuilding mode. I'm confident in Carlon, Jeremy and the frosh to help ease the pain of losing Alec and Cory. This team should finish in the top half of the league -- i voted 4th. There are a whole lot of mediocre basketball teams in the Pac right now (and Oregon State and Utah are atrocious, that's four wins just right there). For the time being it will be less brutal than the Big12 was in recent years. It may not always be pretty, but the Buffs will post more wins than the casual observer would expect in league play. I'll predict another NIT appearance as the Buffs lay the foundation for a big run in '12-'13.

5th

uofa
UW
Cal
UCLA
CU

Pac-12 is going to be weak yet again in mens hoops. Two maybe three get NCAA invites.

UCLA and CU in the NIT

Voted for 7th. Looking for the under-promise over-deliver strategy.

I like this team, and bball is a sport where freshman can step in and perform at a high level very quickly. 3rd. Kool-aid for all!

we'll need someone who can replace Levi's outside threat for the O to run, imo. that won't be easy...and i'm not sure it's Nate. we lose a lot of scoring and there will be some tough nights when no one can put the ball in the basket, i'm thinking.

the current Pac will be a step down in competition from the Big XII....i say we win about 16-18 games. i'd take another NIT home slate as a bridge to the next year, fans still excited by a young team....no questions asked.

i don't see "bubble team" here. i'd love to, but i don't see how this team is as good as the one that loses AB, Hig, and Levi. and that was a "bubble team".

I voted 7th, and I think we'll make the NIT. Like Mick said, we're going to have issues with scoring at times. Last year, we could count on Burks or Higgins to go off. I don't think we have that on the roster this year.

Roberson, Tomlinson, and Dufault are our only players to average 20+ mins/game last year. Our 3 freshmen newcomers obviously didn't play. Adams played JUCO, Tunks was injured, Brown/Chen were redshirting. Mills and Eckloff will be non-contributors imo. We are GREEN. We're gonna be pretty bad early in the year imo

If we still had Burks, I'd give us a real chance at winning the conference. Witout him, there are too many question marks. Somebody will have to step up, and we have no idea who that will be. I think 5th sounds about right.

Conservatively: 6th, which should be good enough for another NIT berth. I think newcomers Adams and Brown will be able to staunch the bleeding, and the relative weakness of the conference will keep the team afloat through some difficult times. .500 in conference, and maybe a game or two above overall. That's not to say I don't think this team won't be 'good' this year, or that there is a drop off in talent. It's just so hard to replace that much production, it's fool-hardy to expect a quick rebound.

I think the Pac 12 will surprise people this year with their competition. I think we end up 7th, and don't make the NIT. This is completely fine though - we'll still be competitive in my opinion, which is all I could ask for after losing the four seniors.

Let's not forget that we have a former Ute and former Texas A&M player on the roster to replace some of the loss of scoring from losing Burks & Higgins. We should finish in the upper half of the Pac-12.

CU will no longer have to worry about where they practice on any given nights...that is one intangible that is being overlooked.

There is no way that 6th in the PAC:12 gets us an NIT berth, if 5th in the Big 12 couldn't clinch it.

Being 5th in the Big 12 got us a #1 seed in the NIT.

The Pac simply is not as strong nor as deep as the Big 12 was or is. I think the team won't be as strong next year as it was last, but will probably finish right around the same spot in the conference. Being 5th in the Pac 12 should produce an NIT bid. With our OOC schedule, if we can manage to pull a 20-win season out of our asses, an NCAA bid isn't out of the question. That seems to be what killed us last year. Or at least that was the story we were fed. I still don't buy it, but whatever.

what killed us last year was the home loss to ATM (they just executed and the kid drained the 3) and losing @ISU the last week of the season.

not disagreeing with anything, just sort of revisiting the pain. and we do get a break when they wave off the KSU shot at the CEC.

you are right, for some reason I was thinking tourney berth. I agree that 5th should be good enough for NIT, but not NCAA tourney

Rush The Court is NOT high on us at all. Honestly, I can understand people being skeptical of us as we are losing our top 4 scorers, but I think we're going to surprise people. I think we're going to be NIT bound, and between 5th and 7th (naturally I voted for 5th because dammit, I believe!). Honestly, as long as we show progress throughout the season, I will be happy. Solid recruiting class coming in this year and with Scott and Gordon we could have a potentially great class next year. Build confidence early though and anything is possible.

He has Cal at #1. The same Cal team CU undressed in the NIT. And he has CU at #11. Does he not realize these two teams played not that long ago? I realize CU is losing some players, but I mean, c'mon.

Dude, we lost a lot more than Cal did, and I'm saying that not looking at Cal's roster. We lost 2 of the top 10 players to come to CU in the last 10 years, and the best player since Chauncey.

It's probably because Cal returns all 5 starters from their NIT squad last year. I don't think they're #1 but think they will do well this year.

I get all that. But going from an NIT also-ran to conference favorite is a huge jump. I don't see it. I also think that Boyle isn't being given the respect he deserves. He's the real deal. He has some talent here, and I expect him to do well with it. 11th in the conference is ridiculous.

i don't really like the guy (MM), but it's probably kosher to give Montgomery heaping praise in the Pac. that may inflate Cal's rep a touch. alongside Howland, he's got to be considered one of the "Dean's" of the conference with Lute gone (I like Miller a lot), the probation/revolving door at USC, the enduring mystery of Sendek, up and down with Romar, Dana Altman in year two after the seemingly endless Kent era, OSU and WSU in kind of meh territory. Utah finally fired Boylan who seemed like a jackass so they start new. defaulting to a guy who's had success in the league at Stanford and won the conference 2 years ago (I think)....with returning experience not a risky pick for sportswriters who have been boozing since the end of March. and if they are all in it together, there's no risk.
