'11 Walk-ons

Troll
Looks like there are three walk-ons we didn't know about (River Thompson, Cody Yellen, Richard Yates) and four guys listed here as walk-ons who actually aren't on the team (Chris Davis, Brandan Brisco, D.J. Wilhelm, Cutter Baldock).

River's a kid that I really like. Also, a guy to really keep an eye on is Casey Walker from Grand Junction. He led the state in sacks last year. This is a very solid walk on class. I'm impressed.

For clarification as Nik pointed out these are just the new walk-ons. There are 12 other walk-ons already on the team.

LOL - Walker looks like he's suffering a bit of shell shock moving from Junction to Boulder.

Yeah I was surprised to see River on there, I thought he got a few offers? Glad to have him.

This list I believe only includes the 105 players that could report. There's more coming in a few weeks once school starts.

I got to watch a few of these kids yesterday.

River Thompson (one of the great fishing spots up near Loveland) is maybe 140 pounds. He is quick though.
Parker Norton is not close to 6'0" 190. Looks 5'10" and 175. Kid has a great story. Doesn't pass the eyeball test (but either did Scotty McKnight).
John Schrock was impressive. He has prototypical size, a good arm, and some athletic ability. He looks every bit like a D1 QB on day 1. Very surprised this kid had no offers.
I think he and Dorman will both benefit from having each other around. Similar size. Schrock has more arm at this point. Dorman has a lot of touch on the ball you don't see at this age often.
Another possible sleeper is Casey Walker. That kid passes the eyeball test! He looks and moves like a D1 football player. We will see how he develops, but keep an eye on him.

Best Comment from the Videos:

BuffVision: What is your strength as a player?
Mark Brundage: Well, I'm a punter, so I think that my strength is that I can kick the ball.

You'd like to think you could take that for granted. But after the last few years...... :sad1:

Good post JRK. Junc, got any additional info about the kid from your neck of the woods?

He was a REALLY good HS lineman. Like the article said, led the state in sacks last year. Also wrestled, which is probably a good sign about how athletic he is. He was going to go to the Naval Academy, but I guess his math scores kept him out. He's a good athlete, but he's going to have to get a hell of a lot bigger to be a D-1 lineman...

In addition to Wood, CU has added seven late walk-ons to the official roster since the start of the fall semester -- defensive back Brandon Brisco, wide receiver Blake Froistad, snapper Clayton Jones, defensive lineman Kyle Koch, wide receiver Tommy Papillion, linebacker Hunter Shaw and defensive end John Tuso.

It looks like Brookhart has a major connection to Cherry Creek (his brother)
