I watched this kid play. 1) , he is 200 lbs and not 185. That may have been a junior yr or something. 2) he is running under a 4.7 40 or the kid from Kings academy # 23 Carlisle is very slow who took a ride to USC as the running back of the 2011 class. 3) quick off the ball and a 40 does not calc. when figuring instinct. As a Nor Cal kid, lets see what he becomes. The new coaches on the block are not taking poor talent and this kid played QB, Special Teams, DE - MLB and Strong safety. Tough, quite and smart!

Thanks for the info and welcome to the site.

I'm pretty high on our walk on program. Really hope that Shaw develops. Sounds like the kind of guy that gets missed due to being on a poor HS team and having to play all over the place as a "put our best athlete wherever we need him" situation.

Shaw's team is a small catholic school near Stanford University. The football program is 12 years old and draws coaches from the 4 universities in the area. 550 kids coed in the high school and 106 turn out for football. # 7 lead in all tackles for the division 2 years running. best game he had 23 tackles and threw for 210 yrds. He played 3 quarters coming from a 20 pt deficit to win by 1 in the last minutes of the game so I read. Sacred Heart Prep has two kids at Stanford, PWO, 6 scattered in the Ivy league, a previous PAC 10 and now CU. Linbacker U is correct!! If he has the tallent, CU will make him better. The first games this year for the Buffs may not have turned wins but they do fly to the ball and hit! Looking forward to the Warm weather PAC 12 teams coming to the Rockies. Sucking air and blowing cold....

The Highschool should ring a bell with Women's basketball fans as two former Buffs Alexis Felts and Jenny Circle are SHP grads.

Nice posts OldBones! Some really good info here. A strong PWO program is really critical. CU has always had a lot of good players come thru this program and it looks like Embo is into it as well.
