The football is in full swing now so it is time to take a look at some 2012 prospects, along with several 2013 prospects.

2012

DT

Kevin Laudermill
-Potential early enrollee from the California JUCO ranks. Big kid with decent athleticism that would potentially help with depth right away. Watching his film, I do wonder about his overall strength.

LB
Khalil Pettway
-Current commit to SMU. Looks like a bit of a tweener to me, which means he could be the "Jack" LB in our scheme. Decent speed overall, but seems to have a special knack coming off the edge.

DB
Cleveland Wallace
-CB prospect out of the Bay area and committed to Oregon State since April. However, he has indicated that he is willing to look around. Lanky kid with good speed and nice ball skills he has acquired playing on offense. He really glides across the field, smooth running style.

2013

QB
Hayden Rettig-Likely to be one of the most highly recruited QBs on the west coast. Strong arm, stands tall in the pocket, and he throws accurate intermediate and deep passes. Decent athleticism to avoid the pass rush as well. He already has multiple BCS offers and he wants to decide sometime next spring.

RB
Dezmond Wortham
-Has been a star for Hebron since his freshman year. Nice speed and deceptive strength, but really excels out of the backfield in the passing game. Looks like the prototypical third down back to me.

WR
Marcell Ateman-Standout for a new program in Wylie East. Has the ability to stretch the field and is averaging over 18 yards a catch so far this season. He is also a standout basketball player with really good ball skills overall. he already has a couple BCS offers and should be one of the more highly recruited WRs in the entire state of Texas.
Sebastian Larue-Good two-way athlete with nice speed. He is listed at WR right now, but I think he might end up at CB in the end. Really good closing speed in his CB highlights. Has an early offer from Boise State and is getting interest from some Pac-12 schools.
Jeremy Tabuyo-Fast kid out of the powerhouse St. Louis program in Honolulu. He runs a legit 4.4 and has big play ability written all over him. Also not afraid to mix it up as a blocker in the run game. Has early offers from Hawaii and Utah.

TE
Christian Morgan
-He plays in the private school division in Texas, so he has been playing OT out of necessity. But he has shown nice athleticism and will be moving to TE for his senior season. He was a standout at the OU and Texas summer camps. Would be a good fit for the TE in our pro style offense.

DL
Bryson Henderson
-DE playing on the inside for his high school team. Nice explosiveness off the snap and shows the ability to shed blockers. Not overly athletic, but he can move laterally well. Will be interesting to see how he develops during his senior season.
Hendrick Ekpe-Have not been able to find film on him, but he has gained a rep as one of the better DE prospects in the metroplex (early 4* grade on 247Sports). Has an older brother committed to Minnesota.
Lowell Lotuleile-Big strong kid out of the Salt Lake City area. He was a standout at the Badger Sports camp in Las Vegas in the spring. Has a powerful bull rush that has been tough to stop. Already has three offers.

LB
Denzel Talifero-Undersized but speedy LB who delivers some big hits. Seems to have nice instincts and knows how to shoot the gaps. He has an early offer from SMU and is hearing from a host of BCS schools. He had 23 tackles and a forced fumble through his team's first two games.
Ryan Dunn-Athletic two-way player who has shown promise as a big WR/TE, but he looks a bit better on defense to me. Really good lateral quickness and flows to the ball nicely. Judging by his rivals profile, he is already on our radar.

DB
Kahlil Dawson-Raw athlete out of Washington who showed well on the camp circuit this past summer. I like his cover skills, although he looks a bit undersized and lacks top end speed on film. He should get multiple Pac-12 offers before it is all said and done.
Hatari Byrd-Could not find any film on him, but he is getting some play as a top safety in the West for the 2013 class. He was a standout at the Stanford Nike Camp and already has an offer from Arizona State.

Laudermill is an intriguing prospect since we're going to need to replace Obi at the NT and I'm not sure we have anyone that can step in. Perhaps Richter, but neither Pericek or Bonsu have the prototypical size.

I'd definitely like to see us land those two.

I found our 2014 QB, starts for Oaks Christian as a sophomore right now:

A few new names to throw out there:

Vincent Hobbs-TE from Mesquite, TX in the Dallas area whom has had a big year as a receiver at the TE position. A bit hard to figure out his true size (seen weights anywhere from 200 to 230). Needs some polish, but he is getting attention from programs like Arkansas and Texas. Not much film out there, but here are a few highlights:

Christian Powell-Plays FB on offense and DE on defense. Recently picked up an offer from Washington. Size may scaring a lot of teams off and I think there is a question of where he fits at the next level. Our coaches are aware of him, so an offer would not be out of the question:

And finally, a player completely off the radar as far as I can tell (could not find a profile on any of the recruiting sites). Jourdan Soares is a speedster (10.6 100 meters) whom has great production at WR thus far. Does not play the greatest competition in Gilroy, CA, but he seems to be a pretty good athlete and is averaging about 23 yards a reception:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/colorado/football/recruiting/player-Kylie-Fitts-125710

I've seen these two play in person a few times this season, definitely guys that are going to be P12 type players. Lee is really fast, he'd be a nice addition to our backfield. I'm not sure if Fitts fitts in a 3-4, more of a 4-3 type imo, but if he's fast enough he could make a nice rush linebacker.

Khalfani Muhammad: really fast RB from Notre Dame HS in Socal. Runs a legit 4.4. Not the biggest kid, but I'll take that speed all day.

and lastly lets see if I can scout a QB worth a damn, Chad Kanoff Harvard-Westlake HS in Socal:

not a huge fan of him running the spread, but he looks like he has a good arm, good frame, moderately athletic, plus going to Harvard-Westlake he probably won't be a drag on the team GPA. His highlight video has epic music too, always a plus.
