Shell was MaxPreps National Freshman Player of the Year for 2008. I've got to believe that the schools in his region have been sending him personal mail for over 3 years now. This will be a tough one for CU to get in on.

Huge pickup for Pitt. I really wouldn't want to go to Bama as a RB with that depth

where I can play as a freshman than have to wait two or three years to even have a shot.

I think his decision came down to wanting to stay home. People from Aliquippa (see Mike Ditka) go to Pitt. Too bad the same can't be said for CU any longer.

That could be the case very easily as well.

Sounds like this kid has decided to transfer from Pitt. ESPN is suggesting that he might be looking at some Pac 12 schools (UCLA or ASU).

His baby mama went off on him on twitter for leaving her and his two daughters I'm told.

Supposedly down to Ohio State, Kentucky, and WVU in a desire to be close to his son (as of June 27th). Maybe with the addition of Rippy we can get in on this

Shell has a world of talent. He could have made our 2-deep as a sophomore in high school. I'm not sure his game has progressed a ton since then, though, but I'd still welcome him with open arms.

Not sure we can offer much in the "close to his son" department.
