Meet the Buffs

Unfortunately, I can't do it. Have a family thing as a pre-Halloween.

Can't make it. Must rest.

gIf you didnt go, you didnt miss much. A un-enthusiastic 3 point shootout between SHT and Nate, which Nate won then lost to a womans player soon after. A dunk contest between Dinwiddie, Ski, and Shannon. Shannon won. A 5 minute scrimmage that really showed me nothing except that our bigs still dont have a post game, and that our freshman (Ski and Dinwiddie) are legit and will contribute immediately.

Did SHT not look much-improved? ****.

Pumped to see Booker and Dinwiddie, along with the other new faces.

Honestly, they did a 5 minute scrimmage where no one went 100%, his shot looks fine, but other than that i have no idea, Dufault, SHT, and Ben all tried one more post i think and none of them worked

Just went back from there. I don't think there should be much post game in such scrimmage, doesn't make sense. You don't want your player to have a intense game and potentially get hurt. That's just for fun.

I'm not sure if SHT improved or not, you just can't know that from the scrimmage. Carlon Brown will be the leader I believe, he is good. Dinwiddie is legit, and I'm surprised at his shooting, he shoots well. Ski is really skinny but really quick. I like his offense skill but am not sure if he can play as well as today under higher defense pressure in PAC12. He needs to put on more weight IMHO

How does Jeremy Adams look?

Adams

Boyle said Adams got injured in practice or something, he didnt play in the scrimmage, i was probably most curious about seeing him play.

I went and gathered a little. It was less than five minutes of scrimmage and not much to really take out of it.

First one of the Beau's, **** if I know which one, could be a three point threat. Play maybe a couple minutes a game. One of them has decent size with a little speed.
Carlon Brown is quick. He will be great for getting up and down the court.
SHT is going to have some three point shooting range. Trey might even have some.
Dinwiddie and Ski show some impressive speed and potential.
Chen also reached up and showed impressive hops to swat a pass and recover for the dunk.

Just for a different note ... the WBB team ....

The 3 point shooting contest winner was one of the freshmen ... Lexy Kresl, out of Arizona. She was reputed to be a good shooter (iirc she was the top point scorer in Arizona for both her junior and senior seasons). Well she proved it today under 'practice' conditions. We'll see how she does with a defender in her face pretty soon. She made 21 3 pointers in the 60 seconds alloted, shooting from the top of the 3 point line. I'm sure she will be being counted on to help fill the scoring gap left by the departure of Spears.

One concern ... the women did not scrimmage "because of a lack of players". They said they only had 9 players but there were 12 on the bench. The only injury that I was aware of was an unknown back problem that Arielle Roberson has been having. So that means there are 2 others that were held out today. Get healthy ladies!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the Malcolm-Peak's also has a knee injury that is expected to heal up in the next couple weeks.

That would have to be Brenna, I would assume, since Megan participated in the 3 point contest. Poor kid.....she missed all of last year with a knee and a lot of her freshman year with assorted injuries. I hope she finally heals up and gets to play.

Did anyone else no understand how Lexy will get off her three point shot in a game. She starts it down at her waist and barely brings it up above her head before she shoots. It just seemed like anyone could block it; however, she did have good arch.

You can get away with that stuff in the women's game because it moves much slower and they are not nearly as athletic.
