Ralphie Report: Former Arkansas running back Isaiah Augustave commits to Colorado

NCAA Football: Florida International at Arkansas

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffs landed another notable transfer on Thursday, as former Arkansas running back Isaiah Augustave announced a verbal commitment to Colorado.

Augustave, who still has three years of eligibility left, is originally from Naples, Florida. He was a four-star recruit out of high school, and was the 6th-best running back recruits of the 2023 class, according to his bio on Arkansas’ website. In his last two years in high school, Augustave rushed for over 2,000 yards and almost 30 touchdowns (27).

Then, in his one year with the Razorbacks, Augustave wasn’t much of a factor. In 11 games last season, he rushed for 202 yards and scored one touchdown, while only starting one game. He finished the season 5th on the team in total rushes and yards.

Augustave will join of a Buffs’ running back room that’s undergone just about as much change as any group besides the offensive lineman. Next fall, CU will have Augustave, two true freshmen in Micah Welch and Brandon Hood, and Ohio State transfer Dallan Hayden.

— Colorado Buffaloes Football (@CUBuffsFootball) May 20, 2024

This marks the second consecutive season that CU’s athletic department has sold out of season tickets and only the 10th time in the program’s history they’ve accomplished this feat. Colorado fans are jumping at the opportunity to witness the Buffs make the jump back to the Big XII in person, as every game is a chance to experience history.

Folsom Field was undoubtedly one of the most electric college football atmospheres in 2023 and things are shaping up for 2024 to be even crazier. Just three short years ago, this sort of thing happening was unfathomable. Karl Dorrell was leading our beloved Buffs into the depths of hell and things seemed unsalvagable. Now, Folsom Field is sold out every Saturday and the Buffs are one of the most popular teams in the country. What a crazy world we live in.
