Hawkins grayshirted in 2006 and redshirted in 2007. In 2008 he saw some game action on special teams and in 2009 became one of the team's most valuable special teams performers. Hawkins is expected to be a ST leader again in 2010 and may contribute at cornerback in a backup role.
