Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) linebacker Garrett Gilliland was one of the top players in Orange County a year ago and currently has two schools at the top of his list.
Gilliland earned league MVP honors as a junior in what was arguably the toughest league (Trinity) in the state. He totaled 76 tackles, 24 for loss and 11 sacks last season.
On the recruiting front, Gilliland has offers from Washington, Colorado, Washington State, Fresno State and Duke.
"Washington and Colorado are my top two right now," Gilliland said. "I'm going to visit Washington (Sept. 4) when they play LSU and I want to visit Colorado as well but I still need to work on a date for that one.
"I took unofficial visits to both schools in the summer and liked them both a lot. Colorado was beautiful and the city of Boulder is really nice. At Washington, I liked the campus and the stadium a lot. Both schools have great coaching staffs and I'm very comfortable with both programs."
