Re: '10 CO OLB Daijon Tyler
What's holding Tyler back is academics. It's questionable whether he'll qualify.
Colorado, Arizona State and Boise State are the biggest programs looking at him.
Good article from the
Denver Post on Tyler, including his academic struggles (possible learning disability):
The native Coloradan may have had difficulties in processing information at various points academically, but a moment of truth as a freshman (including a couple of D's) got his attention loud and clear.
It hit the 6-foot, 209-pound Pomona linebacker like one of the licks he regularly hands out.
"I was, like, 'Ah, I can't do this,' " he said.
So Tyler, Class 5A Big 8 League defensive player of the year in 2008, continues to diligently climb out of a hole that delights coach Jay Madden.
"I'm really proud of this kid," Madden said. "To be where he is now after where he was is something."
Tyler is working toward a solid B average, and would like to play at the next level. Ultimately, he may begin in junior college, but, Madden said, "that's OK because he'll go there for two years, then go play somewhere. He would thrive in the Pac-10."

He really sounds like a player. Has anyone seen him?
