'12 CA TE Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick (Signed to USC)

Let's be honest, why would somebody pick CU over USC if you grew up rooting for USC, it's technically a better school, better football program, wins more, has MANY more championships to it's name, places more folks in the NFL, ect, ect, ect.

Try to have some class guys. It sucks finishing 2nd to anybody but losing out to OU/USC when we are coming off a 3-10 season, is a 99% certainty. It would have been beautiful to cut some corners getting some premium talent but Embree will have to do it the hard way and PROVE to recruits why he has been such a great TE coach through his career. He's selling a lot about his time with Cooley, Tony G, and Mercedes Lewis, but last year Ryan Deehan didn't do crap and that guy had talent. Nothing we can do about this now but go out and make the position look competent in 2012. If Embree can't do that, then these kids probably made the right decision.

Rationality will get you nothing here, bitch.

There is a reason he could still pick CU-a Coach with a passion for the TE position, experience coaching one of the best of all time, who will get the best out of him, has strong NFL ties and can offer him immediate playing time. So even though it is stacked against us on this, there is still a logical reason he could consider Colorado. Plus he'd get to play against USC every year and maybe a change of scenery to Boulder is actually appealing too.

sorry guys LOI is faxed into USC now.

Bummer, but I'm sure Embo will have some kind words of consolation for him at mid-field after we beat USC each year, for the next 4 years...(or, he'll happily accept his transfer request after JCF leaves SC next year!)

AS much as I would love this... We are not beating SC next year. I don't know if anybody will beat SC next year.

You don't often hear of a guy being academically ineligible at USC. They're masters of the "athlete path" to a USC degree. JCP must be doing about zero in the classroom.

This. How the hell do you get declared ineligible at a private football factory?
