'12 Transfer WR Cayleb Jones (transfer to Arizona)

Two pages in and there has been no "size of the tennis racquet" jokes? Allbuffs is slipping.

He lost his lady to a tennis player? Next thing ya know it'll be a soccer guy. As long as he can make the grade, who gives a damn? We had some hard men when we were good.
He gets the Lou Diamond Philips award.

Supposedly very good friends with Thomas Coffman currently on CSU's roster as well. Boulder and Fort Collins aren't all that far from each other if he is looking to be closer to friends.

Orakpo and Capi would be proud. At least when our players fight they don't do that much damage

Just a question for those closer to the current admission process.

Does CU look at student who is the student disciplinary process at another school differently when handling a transfer app. Is this something that admissions could get involved in and say no?

Yes. Any disciplinary actions on a students record are factored into the admissions process.

Beyond academic achievement, CU-Boulder places importance on secondary factors to assess the overall qualities of each applicant. These secondary factors include, but are not limited to the following: your two required essays, school and community activities, leadership positions and awards, participation in athletics, work experience, summer activities, special circumstances, and letters of recommendation (optional).

They are required to report it. If they don't and we find out about it we would deny them.

Now I'm not sure what OJA uses to approve or deny them when they report it.

MM suggested in yesterday's post practice interview that the last schollie is up for grabs for some deserving player on the team already.
If Cayleb wants to be a buff, MM will find him a scholarship. I doubt he uses it up knowing he can get a talent like Cayleb (at least based off of his potential).

I will suggest again that Coach Jeffcoat has a personal relationship with this player and that probably counts for more than what some pissy UT fans have to say about a player leaving their imploding mess.

ECU fans are quite confident due to the family connections, but man I can't stop thinking what a huge get this would be. We need talent and need to be creative in finding it. Completely trust HCMM's judgement. Go get 'em Jeffcoat!

Not tryin' to get inside MM's head. Just repeating what he said.

Coveted transfer…
Most of the transfer churning is over as teams are well into camp, but a potentially explosive offensive player remains: former Texas receiver Cayleb Jones, who looks to restart his career after a troubled stint in Austin.

The Longhorns suspended him for a felony aggravated assault charge for allegedly hitting and breaking the jaw of a UT tennis player, according to reports. The charges were dismissed and reduced to a misdemeanor.

As the Jones family approaches a decision, I'm hearing Arizona and UNC are still firmly in the mix for Jones' services.

Arizona just picked up former Texas quarterback Connor Brewer, who is friends with Jones.

Jones was expected to compete for a starting spot at UT this year, so the coaches involved in his re-recruitment know he's a serious talent.

East Carolina could be an option. His brother, Isaiah Jones, plays for the Pirates. His dad – former Cowboys linebacker Robert Jones – is in the ECU hall of fame.
