'14 JC LS Wyatt Smith (Signed to Colorado)

I've mentioned this before, but I want to re-iterate.

Next season, the one place CU will have an advantage in most games is the kicking game. We'll have a senior punter and a senior kicker. Bringing in a highly-ranked long snapper who has proved it on the JUCO level gives a lot of confidence (and removes a lot of risk) that we won't lose this advantage to Ryan Iverson's graduation.
So we're definitely bowl bound next year? Sweet.

We won't be if we don't have good special teams.

Moves like this recruit make us better and get us closer to winning football games.

Please take your snark somewhere other than a recruit's thread if you can't help yourself.

I was just kidding, 'nik...I agree long snapper is a largely overlooked need on a team. I remember how well Neal Hannifin did when GB brought him in. He was a largely unknown player, but never fouled that snap that I recall. I am glad MikMac landed a replacement for Iverson. Iverson was money on the snap.

This staff continues to grind a little bit higher each day. Little bit here.... Little bit there..... I like this addition mucho! Our reality may be several games come down to last possession next year. Like to win those....

Welcome Wyatt!

Mentioned in last nights game and another bowl game ( I think Fiesta bowl?) how important it is to have an athletic long snapper these days. This kid fits that bill perfectly IMO. Has to have the ability to get down the field fast and make a play.
