'14 UT DE Christian Shaver (Signed to COLORADO)

Not big enough to play right now at DE. But I do see a lot of good things. Explodes off the ball, good speed. Hopefully he can add weight and keep the speed.

Adam stated tonight that this kid is a really explosive speed rusher and was pretty dominant at our camp, fwiw. He must have impressed them at both the Poly camp in Utah and later at CU's camp. Welcome aboard young man!

In reading about this kid, I didn't realize he really is an Arizona kid who recently moved to Utah. He didn't have any strong allegiances to staying in-state (many Utah kids really have strong pulls to BYU or Utah). The Utah staff likewise didn't have any sort of early advantage and CU basically found him first.

Arizona kids love them some Colorado.

Could be a really strong get for this program.

"Previous school: Colorado University"

I like the dig from little brother's little brother.

Is this is one of those situations where little brother happens to the star of the middle school team and big brother struggles just to be a part of the high school team while the neighbor kid gets all the attention?

Wristen has done a great job in Pueblo. He built that program from nothing into a team that won a national championship and in most years is looked at as a contender.

He has done a great job of recruiting kids in Colorado and surrounding states that were passed over by D1 schools and adding in enough transfers from D1 programs like Shaver to put them over the edge.

He wins a lot of games and kids get a chance to get a degree. He's had kids in NFL training camps almost every year and a couple who have made it.

This could be a chance for Shaver to stand out.

Meh, of course Wristen wins. Pueblo recruits itself.
