I really don't put any stock into twitter feeds of high school students.
tweet removed since everyone was obsessing over it. Island thread created. Have fun kids!

And I, for one, welcome diligent research from a CU target on CU's many benefits.

Was going to walk on for 2015. I assume he went JUCO, but I can't find him.

That would have been about 10 feet over the punter head.

I can't give specifics but I am sure I have seen some long snaps that went more than 33 yards. As BUFFS14 alludes to those weren't exactly welcomed by the coaches or the punter/holders involved.

Why exactly would you want to longsnap 33 yards? Punter who can't kick short in a coffin corner situation? FG kicker looking to set a distance record?

I think it is just numbers reason like running the 40. He looks to be good at getting downfield quick to make the tackle or jump on the ball which is more of a nice special teams attribute.

Dude should get scholarship at UC Davis. I'm sure Hawkins has a great plan to punt from the 10 yd line. I bet with a 30 yd snap the punter could easily place the ball inside the 20.

If the ability to snap farther also equates to the ability to snap faster, then a quicker time for a punter to receive the ball allows for more time to punt. Not sure if that plays...

Never seen that skill featured to this degree.

I just can't yet figure out what kind of trick play to run that leverages an accurate long snap like that. Maybe a direct snap to a wide out hugging the sideline?

Maybe a stupid question, but it's AllBuffs: Is it normal to "wind up" like he does? Is the ball fair game once it begins to move? If so, those videos are just for show, or he's got a lot of form to correct.

Either way, impressive video.

Smart kid. He'll get a a chance in college and if he's good enough, he'll go make a few hundred thousand (or possibly multiple millions) in the NFL. Like the other specialists, nobody cares about them until they **** up. And their **** ups are typically catastrophic.

The most swag coming from a long snapper since, well, ever.

"I am consistent, my snaps are fast, clocking at NFL times right now. And I have sent a long snap back 33-yards, which is better than Nate Boyers' long snapping record of 30-yards," Hawkins said. "I am also fast, I can get down the field and help in coverage. I am getting a lot of positive feedback. They are saying I am the LeBron James of long snapping. My upside in long snapping is better than any long snapper in the nation right now, I believe."
