'17 MN PG McKinley Wright (Signed to COLORADO)

Funny how the last couple weeks on all the different sites I saw so much criticism on Coach Boyle's ability to recruit. Now, we see some people saying how great this class is; I want to see props to coach? I believe the best teams in the schools future will develop a run over the next five years.

"This kid is really, really good," Boyle said. "He's kind of the missing piece for us. He's a true point guard. He can shoot the three. He's got the mid-range shot, floaters, he can get to the rim. Beyond his ability to pass and shoot though, I think his true value is in the intangibles. He has leadership skills. He makes plays for others. He has that quarterback mentality, and that's something we need."

Tad sounds like he is very happy with this commitment.

Most comprehensive tape I could find. Playmaker. Feisty.

Wow great find, thanks for posting.
Two things I saw that stood out to me:
1. He can create his own shot easily and at any range. He and D'shawn might be the only two that can do that consistently on the roster.
2. He is great at the pick and roll. Along with Lazar, who's also a PnR specialist, it seems like that's a new focus.

With Siewert, Battey, and Walton, the PnR absolutely needs to be a bigger emphasis.

Big pickup. Was the missing link for sure to what is now a very good class. Need to add a big next year.

Being able to point to a guy like this running the show should make it easier to get a big. He looks like a player who twist defenses and creates plays for his teammates.

So where does Nikolic slot in? Wright will probably be backup PG, does he redshirt? Combo guard?

If you're assuming Collier has the starting PG spot locked up, I'd start again. He started most games last year as an off guard. Shooting is Dom's best skill, his assist-to-TO is nearly 1:1 and he's been plagued by injuries in 2 of his 3 seasons. All 3 are going to be taking their turns unless someone makes a huge impression in the preseason. That's why it was key to grab two playmakers this spring.
