Colorado stepped up to the plate late last month when Jackson was in Boulder attending the Buffaloes' first recruiting event of the year.

“I was kind of expecting that so it wasn't that big of a surprise for me,” Jackson said of the Colorado offer. “It was nice, though. There were different coaches coming up to me telling me what they like about me. Basically they like how I am really aggressive and that I am just a big athlete that can play any position.

“The facilities at CU stood out a lot. They say it is the best in college and I can believe it. The indoor practice facility has a track and it connects right to the weight room. I was really impressed with that.”

Jackson plays primarily at safety for Mullen but will likely project as an outside linebacker for the next level.

That offer list for a Colorado sophomore... Gotta get! We have all the early advantages of being local.

Keep him from going to the Corn! His offer list is going to read like book when it is all said and done

This is why it's important to get Cumber, Banks and potentially even McElroy here this year, IMO. The more influence on Jackson, the better.
Maybe, but mostly it's a reason to get Jackson here. If the others don't dig CU, they'll probably regret it sooner than later.

This kid is going to shoot up the recruiting boards. If programs like Ohio State are stepping up this early in the process than that is a great sign. He is a must get and we need to keep him in state. Hopefully, we can make a bowl game this year, resign Mac and truly show these recruits that we are on the rise!

In the televised game against Pomona, he was a beast. Good receiver, too. He and Borghi from Pomona shined - happy to see CU in on both of them.

Adrian Jackson should be priority #1. He should be by far our top target because for one he is an in-state kid and second he is going to be a stud. Protecting our boarders starts with Jackson.

This will be an interesting recruitment to watch next year. Wonder if there will be hard feelings at Mullen since it does not look likely that we will sign a Mullen player this year?

I don't see how there could be hard feelings. CU offered early, brought them to campus several times, and would have accepted a commitment. Those guys slow-played the Buffs, not the other way around.

Not sure I'd care about whether a university signed a player from my school the previous year. Only if it was a guy I wanted to go to college with. My high school colors wouldn't run that deep.

Mine would because we were black and gold, see your point though.

Most cases I agree but the head coach is a Ram and I just read a scout article that mentions he might visit Wisconsin because Christian Cumber is interested in visiting there.

Call it the Warren McCarthy effect. They believe we should be all over Colorado kids at all times over any other state.

Adrain Jackson is an in state recruit we should be all over. So is Cumber. But when interest isn't really reciprocated, the coaches need to move on a little.

Btw, everything I've heard is that Warren McCarty doesn't have a clue and college recruiters stay away from him and often try to warn kids off about him.

Seems to me the biggest obstacle with Jackson is the fact he's said he wants to go out of state. Don't think it has to do with anyone pushing him that way, just a mindset we have to work on changing.
