Yeah. It’s great that they do the school work in order to stay eligible. But what happens to them when they no longer have that incentive?
I don't think there is a clear answer to that, I guess it depends on the individual.

You keep them involved in sports or other activities until they graduate. Then they have the diploma.

A lot of kids don't have a clue what they want to do in high school or are distracted by other things. Get them graduated and as they mature hopefully they figure it out but without that HS diploma they are way behind in terms of being able to do anything about it.
