Anyone know if we’ve offered his wideout (#4)? That kid was behind the D on ever one of those plays and killed the CBs on the jump balls.

Edit: Nevermind. I looked him up and that receiver is Kennedy Lewis who will be a freshman for the Longhorns this year. He certainly jumped out in the highlight reel.

Did his ratings recently drop? Thought he was previously a consensus 4*.
From what I can tell, ESPN dropped him to an unrated 3-star, which like, I don't know what the thinking is there but they've rated just 8 Dual Threat QBs in 2020 overall while the rest share a weird unrated 3-star status. Not sure if that 3-star status is set in stone or a placeholder? That's where most of the drop comes from, but 247 also dropped him from a 90 to an 88. Not sure Rivals ever had him as anything else.

ESPN is wonky and late to put ratings out. They start with their ESPN 300 and don't really rate anyone else. That 300 is very much hype based. Then, as they start adding, they don't do full ratings right away -- just slot a star rating on guys. Next step is that they'll reshuffle and end up moving a lot of guys in or out of that top 300 as they learn which players are actually being offered by the big schools. I find that ESPN is a good barometer of a recruit based on where he ranks based on offer list, performing well at an ESPN event, and generating clicks for ESPN.
