2024-25 Coaching Carousel

Walters was very successful as a defensive coordinator at both Missouri and Illinois. It's why he ascended so quickly to being a P4 head coach.

It has nothing to do with him being an alumni at CU. That is simply stating a fact. It could simply mean he's not good at organizing it as the head man at this point in his career.

That’s a minor issue, IMO. I think going 6-0 at Indiana in year one, after proving to be elite at JMU, is a possible tier 1 or upper tier 2 program qualification and UNC isn’t in that group.
I thought by new era you meant the current realignment situation. You were talking NIL, I guess. Can't speak to how either school is currently setup there.

Agree 100% with Duff on the recruiting area.

Ahead of Miami or FSU?
Yep. I mean it, 100%.

SEC already in Florida. FSU isn't AAU. I really don't think Miami offers much to SEC, I think they're in the B1G's top 3 expansion candidates (I think Virginia is higher and Georgia Tech is close).

UNC is AAU. A good recruiting state that neither P2 is in currently (and would put both closer to Virginia). Very loyal fanbase. You get top level hoops and a bunch of Olympic sports too.

I see where your logic comes from on this. But I don’t think the SEC/B1G will be the ones controlling the expansion candidates. I could be wrong but I would guess both Miami and FSU have better TV numbers than North Carolina, and that will be the driver.

I've been wrong before. We'll likely see within a few years.

For sure, but I guess I just dont know if UNC is a place you leave Indiana after one year for, in this new era.

That's more of how I was thinking. Neither school is all that invested in football but at least IU is getting a ton more money from TV. Duff's point about UNC being in a more talent-rich area is definitely true though.
