2027 Recruit Profile Index & Recruiting News

Sione Kaho was offered by Marion last March at Sac State. I expect to see a Buff offer soon.

Looks like we only have to beat out Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Texas which have separated themselves as current favorites. Hope he really, really loves the Flatirons.

How are we not even in the Top 6 for a CO kid whose dad won the Butkus at CU?

Years and years of ineptitude and Prime and co probably not putting in extra effort for the legacies. But also, based on that top 6, he might have been interested but we just can’t compete with the money of those programs for unproven high school recruits

Colorado made him a priority recruit. We were not in the bag area, however, like you mentioned. If Colorado wins this year and we get some additional dough for the 2027 cycle, I could see them make a run again before signing day.

I don't want to sound like a total Prime advocate, but what if Reis Russell just wants to go out of state for school? Sometimes HS kids just want to do that, and it has nothing to do with the hometown school or their coaches efforts/relationships with local HS coaches or legacies. It is not like Russell's parents are poor and could not go out and see him play a bunch where-ever he lands. We might have offered him later, but we changed player personnel. I'm sure that he has been on campus and un-official visited a few times. Also, that is an impressive list of six schools. It is not like his Dad said we avoided CU due to XYZ. Prime signed Art Walker's son.

Sure, I would like to get every Colorado Blue-Chip athlete in all sports and more CO HS players, however even CSU is coming up against the sheer fact that some kids just want to go out state, and that is fine. With Denver's proximity a flight and transportation to many schools is 2 to 3 hours. From a CO HS player's perspective, if they are truly mostly just focused on football, playing out of state can have benefits and less overall distractions. If they have NIL, during the off-season they can take a flight home for a long weekend. It was not really that way in the 70's through 90's, as flights home were sometimes very expensive.
