I'm concerned a lot of these guys are very good against lesser competition but won't hold up against real OL's. You ever watched NDSU line up there elite OL and literally run the ball down the throat of schools with guys weighing 230 on the edge and 260-270 in the middle. That is what CU has for a depth chart right now and that could get ugly watching big OL's simply push guys backwards for 4-5 yard runs over and over.

So, the same thing we've seen year after year for the past 22?

Santana Hopper is the best DL in Tulane, a 11-3 CFP team. They beat a bowl eligible big10 team, the acc champion, and a ranked UNT team.

So ya, I am sure he hasn't seen a team with big OL.
Look at his stats vs P4 teams.

Look at his stats vs P4 teams.
In the 12 games they played this season, 3 of them are P4 teams. that's 25%.

He had 28 tackles in total, 6 of them come from the 3 P4 games, that's 21.4%

He had 4.5 sacks in total, 1 of them come from the 3 P4 games, that's 22.2%

So tell me, what do you want me to look at? That he had consistent performance against P4 teams? What exactly is the point you are trying to make by looking at his stats?

Also, it's pretty stupid to judge a DT's performance against P4 teams only by looking at his tackles/sacks. There is no data available for stats like QB pressure, gap disruption, etc. I know his PFF grade is about 80, that looks really good to me.

Good analysis.

His performance against Ole Miss.

1 solo tackle, 0 sack, 1 TFL.
I already said it's a DUMB way to evaluate the DT!

Let me give you one simple example, Georgia's star DT, 2025 AP All-SEC first-team, Christen Miller. The two games they played against Ole Miss:

First game: 1 solo tackle, 0 asst tackle and 0 sack
Second game: 1 solo tackle, 2 asst tackle and 0 sack

Hopper, in the two games against Ole Miss:

First game: 1 solo tackle, 1 asst tackle and 0 sack
Second game: 1 solo tackle, 0 asst tackle and 0 sack

Is Christen Miller a bad DT in your mind?

Also, if you watch his plays, he had quite a few highlights playing 4/4i tech. He can play as DE if necessary. He is a very versatile player with GREAT motor.

It's strange to see people downplaying the performance of the best defensive player in a team that is probably better than Colorado this year.

Hmm, I never said what I thought one way or the other.

I didn't really read you prior post other than to see the query in your last line. I simply wasn't that interested in what you had to say.

I think looking at stats in a big game gives an indication. Watching film even more so. I don't have the time and inclination to watch film right now and even less time and inclination to read your posts.
