Let me see what I can remember
Coach Mac spoke early on and told the story of Saban urging all the Alabama fans to pack the house for the spring game. He said that he wants all CU fans to be in attendance at the Spring game and challenged each and every one of the 1,600 in attendance to bring 50 friends to the SG. He said there are no excuses, everything is free that day. He then said I want you to stand up and pledge to bring 50 of your nearest and dearest to the Spring game. Slowly but surely everyone rose to their feet. It was a Buff fan call to arms.
Next CJ got up to raise money for the academic support program. They were "selling" three things. They had 75 limited edition prints from a renowned Boulder artist of Buffaloes on the plains. The $5000 tier was a trip on the Buffs Charter to the FSU game and one of the unframed prints. For $2500 you would get a framed print and for a $1000 you could get an unframed print. I'm fairly certain that they sold out and I would speculate that close to $200,000 was raised. CJ also presented Coach Mac with a much larger version of the print for all he's done for the CU program. Later, I assume at Coach Mac's request, Coach Hawkins said that the larger painting was available for $25,000. Almost instantly an arm went up to buy it. It was awesome.
They showed highlight vids of all the recruits and then Hawk wrapped it up by thanking everyone and urging everyone to be a part of the program.
This is a cliff notes version of the RL and I'm sure I've missed some other pertinent info that others will help me fill in. Oh, one more thing. I saw John Hessler and he looked great he was walking on his own and getting along very well. I chatted with him briefly. What an amazingly strong man he is.
