Cal has a QB who isn't that much of a running threat. They modifiy the spread to run from the I occasionally with a great RB and decent OL.
Oregon has a QB who can run and the spread piles up the rushing yardage.
BOTH QB's can throw the ball over the middle without the passing game becoming a volleyball match.
I am not a fan of the spread, but it can work. It can even be modified for a non- running QB. I hope somebody in Boulder is watching how successful teams run this offense.
