Blue Ribbon Big 12 North preview is up

Head over to the front page of college football on ESPN.com to see the Big 12 North preview, courtesy of Blue Ribbon.

The Colorado preview is free, but the rest can only be accessed by ESPN Insiders. But you can find in-depth analysis of the offense, defense, special teams, newcomers and an overview of each team.* Here's a sampling:
The Buffaloes did too many things last season to beat themselves. They were 92nd in the country in scoring offense, 88th in scoring defense and 97th in turnover ratio. The 2009 Buffs were at best just an inconsistent team with wins over Kansas and Texas A&M and losses to Toledo and Kansas State.

"Our task really is to clean it up a little bit," Hawkins said. "Get a little momentum, get a little confidence and all that stuff changes. And I think our guys are up to that task."

The Buffaloes need to get off to a good start. Last year they opened the season with a 23-17 loss to state rival Colorado State, and in a quick turnaround with a Friday night road game, they were defeated by Toledo, 54-36. Colorado ended up starting the season with a 1-4 record, losing the conference opener at Texas. Colorado's non-conference schedule may be tougher this season -- and the Buffs also played Wyoming and West Virginia last year.

STFU

That's right, Hawk. Just clean it up a little bit. No need to worry about running, blocking, tackling, kicking, punting, catching, and avoiding penalties and turnovers. That stuff will just magically take care of itself if you work on the little things.

The fact the Colorado preview is free speaks volumes. Hawkins has reduced CU to irrelevancy, a preview given away for free. Think about it, you have to pay to see ESPN's preview of IOWA FREAKIN' STATE, but the Buffs comes free. We are CFB's answer to a free toaster when you open an account at the bank.

Clean a few things up? What a joke...

wow, that's like the ultimate condensation of the whole Hawk "it's not me, i'm doing things a little bit funky" excuse factory. like a diamond, cut clean of any excess.

It would be refresing for him to have said "Our task is to win games."

Apparently, winning games isn't his task. His task is to clean it up a little bit. Why do I have this awful feeling that no matter how much he cleans it up, somebody else is going to be cleaning up a whole lot more at this point next year?

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. Like any Insider article they have to give the readers something to peak their interest, and with all the national press CU has been getting lately some people are wondering what the Buffs are all about. Who is even going to think about opening the article if ISU is on the front page? You're looking at this all wrong! There is way too much Negative Nancy Bullsh#t on this site and almost all of us are guilty of it. How about if everyone stops feeling sorry for ourselves and gets behind this team? Given the current state of our program, this was a surprisingly positive article. Why are we always looking for something negative with everything associated with the Buff? The Buffalo Brethren need to rise up and stand together anyone that crosses the Black & Gold. Our Buffs need all of our help, they are lost. What if was your dog was lost, are you going to give up after an hour of looking and just sit on the porch like a goon waiting? You gotta think "You got a pet, you got a responsibility". If your dog gets lost you don't look for an hour then call it quits. YOU GET YOUR ASS OUT THERE AND YOU FIND THAT F#CKING DOG! Now, let's all shake the sand out of our vaginas, put our ovaries on the outside and grow a pair. Now let's keep it classy bitches, and GO BUFFS!!!!

Effin' UT fans ate our dog...

Until Hawk shows he can get the team rolling, he'll be in my dog house.

If your dog craps on yor carpet, you don't say "you have a few things to clean up", you rub his nose in it and get after a more effective training method.

OK can we dispense withthe dog analogies now?
