Buffs 2014 Annual Football Recruits Preview Luncheon

Used to enjoy these a lot more when the Head Coach would get most of the time to share stories about each kid. How they found him, what stood out, what to expect immediately vs long-term, etc. I did not go last year. Does HCMM do that? I would pay to hear about the meetings in the living room, or legends of how the kid plays, etc. Most of us on here have already seen the film.

Hawkins started out pretty strong in these but as his time went on, he said very little about the recruits and they turned into a big fund-raising gig. With that said, if they are not entertaining, nobody wants to go, and fundraising takes a hit.

My buddy bought a boat one year as a silent auction deal for like $25,000.

Both the kickoff luncheon and the recruiting luncheon have fallen off in the recent past. Barnett was always good and the Hawkins ones were good when Coach Mac was leading the way.

I might be there - a friend of mine is getting a table (maybe) and wanted me to go. Who am I to pass up a free lunch.

Did Mac lead any of the ones besides when he tried to get 50k to the Spring Game?

I went two years ago...it was pretty bland. I am glad I went, but not itching to go again.
